Dave: "I think Australia will be very happy with a 300 run lead. 200 still looks very defendable and batting won't get any easier." Yep. Alex will be on in about 20 minutes to begin the chase.
Asif : "Good recovery by Aussies with half centuries from Head, Webster and Carey on a tricky pitch. A wagging tail has taken them to 300, but has the pitch eased up allowing easier runs? Australia has a capable pace attack and should make full use of any demons in the pitch."
2:57pm, Day 3, Tea: Shamar raises the ball as he walks back. Another good session for Australia though. Webster fell early but Carey picked up pace after that. His is easily the quickest scoring innings of substance in the game so far despite the strike-farming later on. Starc got a cameo, Lyon provided stability and stitched a decent stand with Hazlewood too. Shamar bowled quite a lot, got the dirty overs before the new ball. He was the most accurate and the only bowler to get frequent assistance from the pitch. Greaves went for runs against Carey. Not much of a role for the spinners.
