12.45pm Wowza, so India have been cleaned up for 156 and that has given New Zealand a very, very handy 103-run lead on a surface where India will have to bat last. Mitchell Santner was the main man as he bowled superbly and struck seven times. India went to lunch at 107 for 7. Jadeja got a let-off second ball after the break and took his chances smashing a few sixes. Washington also went for his shots, but Santner made sure none of them went on for long. The surface is not easy to bat but India have a huge mountain to climb here. Monga will be back for the India innings.

Sampath chimes in: Just the sixth Test match where two bowlers took 7-plus wicket hauls in the first two innings of a men's Test. The last of the previous five was ENG-AUS 1997 at The Oval.

India are lagging behind but just a reminder that you can catch up with all the action from this Test in our Hindi ball-by-ball commentary as well

Santner to Bumrah, OUT, Goes on straight with the arm and that's seven wickets for Santner. Bumrah has reviewed though. Gets the length ball bang on middle, Bumrah stretches forward, the ball misses his bat, raps him on the pad. That looks absolutely plumb. Yep, no bat, impact in line and the ball would have crashed into middle and leg stump. Santner finishes with a career-best 7 for 53 and New Zealand have taken a 103-run lead.

Santner to Akash Deep, OUT, lovely comeback from Santner. Slows it down. Teases him. Tortures him. It is under 80ks. Deep can't hit because there are men back. He just defends, and it turns almost in slow-motion past his bat to knock back the off stump

Santner to Akash Deep, no run, they have shown him mid-on and mid-off up, and he has a big swipe at a full ball. Beaten by the turn

Akash Deep is the No. 10. Santner is on five wickets. Has bowled unchanged since morning

Richard A: "Well done Santner! He's had to work so hard even to get selected for tests, both home and away. That maiden 5-for has come from monumental hard work."

Santner to Jadeja, OUT, caught back to a full ball, and Jadeja is reviewing just because there are three in the kitty. Oh hello, the ball is turning, and could save Jadeja although he hardly looked interested in reviewing this. Well Jadeja was right in not wanting to review. He is caught on the crease with a fullish ball, it turns and skids and stays low, and would have hit leg. Santner's maiden five-for in Test cricket

RA Jadeja lbw b Santner 38 (54m 46b 3x4 2x6) SR: 82.60

A weird little session so far. The decision to bowl Ajaz and not Phillips, and then the missed review
