7.5 this looks dead plumb. Drift and turn. Makes him play the line of middle and leg, and the ball turns away to miss the outside edge and hit him right in front. Immediate raising of the finger, and Latham decides to not review 32/1
43.2 and Ashwin goes past Lyon in 25 fewer Tests. Not the greatest delivery but Ashwin will take this. This one has turned from a good length outside off, and Conway has pushed at it without getting close to its line. Sharp catch by Pant as it takes the edge 138/3
23.6 Sarfaraz is adamant he has heard something. Will he convince Rohit to review? Yes, he has. Oh, there looks like some glove. Yes, there is. Well done, Sarfaraz. That was floated down leg, Young looks to work this around, gets a feather of glove and Pant takes a good catch. No one was convinced there, but Sarfaraz. Do India have an opening? 76/2
59.1 Cleans him up with an absolute ripper! Fires this quicker from wide of the crease, gets the ball to land on off and snake past Rachin's outside edge. He was well forward and would have thought had covered the line. But that was a beauty of a delivery that hit Rachin's off pole. No wonder Washington is cock-a-hoop 197/4
63.3 big shout for lbw but he is forward and it is turning. You can't really give them for an offie bowling over the wicket although Kohli was given out similarly against Bangladesh. Whoa. Puff of dust on this one outside off, but with the ball turning so much it is rare that the ball impacts in line and is also going on to hit. And this is that rare delivery. It turns in just the perfect amount to impact him in line and hit the leg stump flush. The decisions has to be reversed. Mitchell is gone 204/6
61.6 The last one went straight on with the arm. This one has spun into Blundell big and crashed into the stumps. What an end to the session for India and it is Washington doing the damage. Floats up the length ball outside off, gets it grip and turn sharply into Blundell who goes for a drive. The ball sneaks between his bat and pad and India have the momentum going into tea 201/5
73.4 oh what a soft dismissal. Mid-off is deep but not on the fence, and he has chipped this straight to the man. The way he played this shot, it seemed to me mid-off was up and he was just looking to clear it, but the mid-off is two-thirds to the fence, and Phillips has given him catching practice. All Tamil Nadu wicket 236/7
79.1 Yes, he can! What a beauty from Washington and Santner has no reply to this. Shortens the length just a tad, keeps it on off stump and with Santner playing back who is beaten by the turn. He is rooted to the crease and the ball fizzes past his outside edge crashing into off stump. Best first-class figures for Washington in first-class cricket: 7 for 59 in 23.1 overs. 259/10
75.1 that's the five-for. His first in Tests. Goes wide on the crease, Southee is playing for the angle, but this pitches leg and keeps going on past the edge and hits the outside edge of the off stump 242/8
77.6 Washington has six. What a change this has been. Ajaz stays back to a length ball, which skids on and doesn't turn. Flat trajectory but fullish length, which catches him on the back foot and the ball takes the inside edge onto the wicket 252/9

26.4 Edged and Phillips has taken four balls to strike. That was pushed quicker just around off stump. Jaiswal prods forward, sort of jabs at the ball and the ball kisses his outside edge with Mitchell picking a good catch low down at slip 70/4
2.6 JAFFA! Oh, my word that is an absolute corker! He pitches the ball on a good length on off stump and shapes it away late squaring up Rohit. The ball takes a bit of his thigh pad and crashes into off stump. Just the kind of start NZ were looking for 1/1
21.3 that's close, and given immediately. No review either. And that draws a cheer from the crowd because it means Virat Kohli will walk out. Gill pushes forward in defence, and Santner has managed to maintain distance between him and the pitch of the ball. Gill plays for the turn, but this one goes straight on. Caught in front 50/2
23.4 he has missed a full toss. The crowd is stunned into silence. This is so uncharacteristic. A juicy little full toss that he mows across the line of and misses it completely 56/3
30.2 Oh, Pant has been cleaned up and I must say that's a pretty ordinary shot. Flatter on off stump, that kept a touch low as well. Pant's eyes light up as he looks for a mow across the line to the short of a length ball. But the bounce deceives him as he misses and finds his stumps in a mess. 83/5
33.6 That is a soft, soft dismissal and Sarfaraz is a goner. Tossed up nicely on off. Sarfaraz is going for his shots but on such surfaces, you have to have to have plenty of luck for them to come off each time. Backs away just a touch in a bid to clear mid-off, who was slightly deep, but miscues it completely. O'Rourke completes the catch albeit awkwardly. 95/6
43.1 caught back to a full ball, and Jadeja is reviewing just because there are three in the kitty. Oh hello, the ball is turning, and could save Jadeja although he hardly looked interested in reviewing this. Well Jadeja was right in not wanting to review. He is caught on the crease with a fullish ball, it turns and skids and stays low, and would have hit leg. Santner's maiden five-for in Test cricket 136/8
35.5 Another one bites the dust. Ashwin doesn't even bother reviewing and India are in disarray. This one goes on straight with the arm, doesn't bounce as much and Ashwin who was looking to flick it away off the backfoot is nowhere near it. He is caught in front of the stumps and the umpire raises his finger in a jiffy. India seven down now 103/7

43.6 lovely comeback from Santner. Slows it down. Teases him. Tortures him. It is under 80ks. Deep can't hit because there are men back. He just defends, and it turns almost in slow-motion past his bat to knock back the off stump 142/9
45.3 Goes on straight with the arm and that's seven wickets for Santner. Bumrah has reviewed though. Gets the length ball bang on middle, Bumrah stretches forward, the ball misses his bat, raps him on the pad. That looks absolutely plumb. Yep, no bat, impact in line and the ball would have crashed into middle and leg stump. Santner finishes with a career-best 7 for 53 and New Zealand have taken a 103-run lead. 156/10

44.4 Fuller, struck on the pad and the umpire agrees. Washington gets another. Latham went for the sweep, and missed. He's reviewed though. No bat, so only the impact in question. It comes up as umpire's call on impact with the ball crashing into off stump. Latham departs and Washington heaves a sigh of relief 183/5
9.2 He's missed that and it looks plumb! Flatter on the stumps, he goes for a sweep, misses and is caught in front. Conway doesn't even bother reviewing. India have their first of the innings. 36/1
18.3 Goes straight on and he is rapped bang in front of the stumps. The umpire's finger is up in an instant. Young has a word with Latham and reviews. Pitches on a length on off and Young is caught in the crease. No bat and ball-tracker confirms that would have crashed into middle and leg stump 78/2
21.5 got him. India stay breathing. Quick length ball, Ravindra goes back for the cut, and it skids on to take the off stump. Again natural variation. The seam is oriented for an offbreak, but it pitches and seemingly gains speed and goes straight on 89/3
29.2 Mitchell goes down in pursuit of quick runs. That is 10 in the match for Washington. Mitchell charges at him again, he is not near the pitch of the ball, and goes ahead with the attacking shot nonetheless. Not a pitch where you can get away with it. Toe-ends a skier to long-on 123/4
59.3 finally a wicket for Jadeja. Nicely bowled. Slows this down, 90ks, dips on him, he plays for the turn, but it goes straight on. Natural variation. Top of middle there. A handy 41 from Blundell 231/6

63.5 this is how difficult the pitch is. This is really full, right in his wheelhouse, he tries to hit a six over long-on, but still toe-ends it with lack of bounce, and is caught at long-on 237/7
64.3 beaten in the flight, and straight to Rohit. Ashwin might have seen it coming, bowls a quick length ball, Southee looks to guide it fine, gets an edge straight to Rohit at slip 238/8
67.3 lovely catch from Washington at deep midwicket. Hurting his own chances of a five-for here, but that is not what you play for. Also shows how difficult the pitch is. Ajaz slog-sweeps a full ball but doesn't get all of it. Going straight of deep midwicket, but Sundar takes it running to his right 241/9
69.4 Has Jadeja conjured a wicket out of nowhere? Oh, he has. He shortens the length outside off as Phillips goes up and over to Washington at deep cover, who was a tad slow. They hare back for two and look to be cruising as the throw comes in at the non-striker's end. O'Rourke gets a little complacent while completing the second run, and Jadeja just taps the ball back onto the stumps to find him short. New Zealand's lead is cut short at 358. 255/10

21.3 that's it. Keep drawing the forward-defensive, and the pitch will do things for you. The last ball turned in big, and this one goes straight on from the same spot. Takes the edge, and Mitchell takes another sharp catch at slip. Remember a critical moment last Test when Mitchell was not at slip, and Ajaz dropped a catch. Delayed New Zealand's win. A maiden 10-wicket haul in first-class cricket. Huge wicket too 127/3
5.4 That's the first one down. He shortens the length just a touch as Rohit shimmies down. A bit of extra bounce and as Rohit looks to defend, he gets a thick inside onto pad with the ball lobbing to short leg for a simple catch 34/1
15.3 and Santner strikes. This pitch will be your friend if you can stay in good areas. After the flighted delivery, goes flatter and quicker, and this straightens in front of the wicket. Gill has gone back, gets a thick edge, and Mitchell takes a sharp catch. Chants of Kohli Kohli even before Gill has made it off the field 96/2
29.6 Huge, huge appeal for lbw and the umpire has given it quickly. Kohli has reviewed this though. Was that slipping down leg? Did he get an inside-edge? First things first.... no bat. On we go. What's the ball tracker saying? Oh, it's clipping the outer part of leg stump. Kohli is stunned. He does not want to go off. Santner gets this to zip quickly off the surface. Kohli stays back and and is rapped on the pad and now has to go off. Santner gets his fourth of the innings and the 11th of the Test. 147/5
22.2 that is a risky single. Pant dives, but we go upstairs. He is gone by a long way. Pant's call as this has gone behind square. Kohli trusts his partner and responds. Pant realises halfway this has gone to the left hand of Santner at point, and tries to accelerate. Too late. The dive doesn't save him. This also means Santner has ensured he can't take all 10. On replays, it seems Kohli started the run and Pant didn't say no. This is Pant's call, he should have said no, but hey there is not even a split second to make these calls 127/4
36.6 Oh, has Young pulled off a stunner? Think he has. NZ are very confident. The umpires are checking for a bump ball. Yep, that's out and India lose their seventh. Pushed quicker on middle and leg, he looks to whisk it away, gets a thick inside-edge on the pad to Young's right. He flings out the right hand, parries it up and then collects it on the second chance. 167/7

35.2 A five-wicket haul for Santner for the second time in the Test. That's 12 for him already. Tossed up, he slows it nicely. The ball keeps a touch low and goes past Sarfaraz's tentative poke to crash into off stump. India six down and still need 194. 165/6
60.2 They have done the unthinkable! NZ have registered a historic Test series win defeating India in India for the first time. Southee takes a superb catch at long-on and the NZ fielders celebrate. Floated on off, he jumps down the track, looks to go downtown, gets a good piece but Southee has taken an excellent catch to his left. Held his balance so well. NZ win by 113 runs and take a 2-0 lead. 245/10
49.3 Santner manufactures another wicket. This is the Test surely? c Mitchell b Santner again. Teasing, flighted delivery, Ashwin is drawn into the drive, and the ball turns with a puff of dust, and Mitchell is there to take the catch at slip 206/8
58.5 Straight down mid-on's throat and NZ are now one away! Ajaz gets his first wicket of the match. Not the best of deliveries but he will take it gladly. Short turning away from Deep who whacks this but straight to Rachin who was in a few steps at long-on. He makes no mistake 229/9
