12:10am And that will be a wrap from us. The Dindigul Dragons pose with the trophy that has long eluded them and the joy on their faces is palpable. A thrilling TNPL season, culminating with the side that played their best cricket in the playoffs, winning. We hope you enjoyed our coverage and until next time, this is goodbye from Chetan, me and everyone else at ESPNcricinfo!

R Ashwin, the Dindigul Dragons captain is also the Player of the Match: Win happened in a flow. We're the only team to lose to Salem. We started slow, were a bit inexperienced at the start and dropped plenty of catches. But the players improved with each game, and I'm so happy for them. They should play for higher honours for TN. Sarath was terrific. He had some shoulder problems, but today he was jumping like Jonty Rhodes. He was everywhere. I wanted to open in this tournament. We didn't have a head coach. I was practicing myself. When the wickets were slow, some of the assistant coaches told me to try it out. I had a great time going all around TN and contributing. Many players have improved and broken through. Tushar Raheja, for example. Siddharth has been fantastic. Future of left-arm spin - the speed he bowls at. Sandeep Warrier, Shivam Singh, there are so many players. Many of them have made a switch, and now they're poised to go to the next level. We've been to qualifiers, eliminators, final, we just couldn't cross the final hurdle. Now glad we're able to.

Shahrukh Khan, the Kovai Kings captain is also the Player of the Tournament: We were trying to keep up to our processes. Really happy, we showed fight. In the middle overs, especially when you play down south, that is where the games are decided. We lost too many wickets. I had a sore shoulder with a freak injury. It is okay, have been trying to push my limits to play for the team. Bitter pill to swallow (tonight). The team comes first, no matter what. I have two departments (batting and bowling) and have the responsibility of taking care of the team. Really enjoying it.

11:35pm We will have the post-match presentation for you shortly.

Baba Indrajith: Very, very happy. We lost back-to-back to CSG but we wanted to be here at Chepauk on August 4. First win (for us) and we are very happy. The management gave us complete support, and Ashwin anna took us along. Complete team effort. Ashwin backed him (P Vignesh) a lot, told him what to bowl when, and when we needed it, he stepped up. Very happy for him.

Shivam Singh: I can't express it in words (this feeling of winning). A legend like him, playing the TNPL so hard, it is an inspiration for us. Batting, bowling, captaincy - he was on his toes throughout. It was unbelievable seeing him (in action in the TNPL). TNPL is one of the best platforms for the youngsters or for anyone. If you play well here, you will get noticed. The way it has been conducted, it has been amazing.

Sarath Kumar: (On the several catches he took tonight) In the team meeting, Ashwin told me (and everyone) that I am the Jonty Rhodes of this team (smiles). Whenever we win, he is the first to congratulate us and he is a good motivator.

11:22pm A clinical run-chase by the Dragons. They seemed a little too frantic at the start but once Ashwin and Indrajith got together, there were no further butterflies. The pair soaked up the pressure, found the fence regularly enough and stayed ahead of the run-rate. Ashwin almost batted through and propelled the Dragons to the brink of victory, which was ultimately secured by Sarath, who popped up with a 15-ball 27 to douse all the tension.

The Kings, to their credit, gave it their all with the bat. However, they were always playing catch-up, having just posted 129. That meant even a couple of boundaries in quick succession sent the Dragons ahead and in the end, that was just too much for the Kings to offset.

Shahrukh Khan to Sarath Kumar, SIX, The Dindigul Dragons' dream is now a reality. The champions of the TNPL, finally. After years and years, they have gotten past the finish line, and this was a display emblematic of champions! Tossed up on a length outside off. Sarath advances, gets close enough and smears it over long on. Smiles and embraces all around in the Dindigul camp. They have waited for a long time for this moment, and now, it is finally theirs! Spare a thought for the Kovai Kings, though. They only lost twice all season, and both of those losses were to the Dragons, and their ambitions of a three-peat have fallen flat on the big night!

Yudheeshwaran to Ashwin, OUT, Ashwin falls! Slower ball on a full length on the stumps. Ashwin looks to whip it away over deep mid wicket but the lack of pace leads to his undoing. Does not get the distance he is after and Sudharsan, sprinting to his right from deep mid wicket, does the rest. Too little, too late, though?

Mohammed to Ashwin, 1 run, full, angling into middle and off. Ashwin chunks it off the inside edge into his pad and the ball rolls away into the off side. But hang on. The Kings have reviewed this because, well, why not. Looks a pretty ordinary review and the first review confirms it. Ashwin has smashed it off the inside edge...
