Baba Indrajith: Very, very happy. We lost back-to-back to CSG but we wanted to be here at Chepauk on August 4. First win (for us) and we are very happy. The management gave us complete support, and Ashwin anna took us along. Complete team effort. Ashwin backed him (P Vignesh) a lot, told him what to bowl when, and when we needed it, he stepped up. Sarath Kumar: (On the several catches he took tonight) In the team meeting, Ashwin told me (and everyone) that I am the Jonty Rhodes of this team (smiles). Whenever we win, he is the first to congratulate us and he is a good motivator.

11:22pm A clinical run-chase by the Dragons. They seemed a little too frantic at the start but once Ashwin and Indrajith got together, there were no further butterflies. The pair soaked up the pressure, found the fence regularly enough and stayed ahead of the run-rate. Ashwin almost batted through and propelled the Dragons to the brink of victory, which was ultimately secured by Sarath, who popped up with a 15-ball 27 to douse all the tension.

The Kings, to their credit, gave it their all with the bat. However, they were always playing catch-up, having just posted 129. That meant even a couple of boundaries in quick succession sent the Dragons ahead and in the end, that was just too much for the Kings to offset.
