Despite a class expected to be small in numbers, the Tigers signed a fourth straight top-10 class. Signing five-star Xavier Thomas is a huge victory over South Carolina, as is signing five-star quarterback Trevor Lawrence out of Georgia. The Dec. 20 signings of five-star offensive tackle Jackson Carman over Ohio State and USC and five-star end K.J. Henry gave Dabo Swinney and staff three five-star prospects and four in the top 25. No. 1 defensive end Thomas and No. 3 end Henry are joined on the defensive line by ESPN 300 signees Josh Belk and end Justin Mascoll, along with four-star tackle Darnell Jeffries. ESPN 300 safety Kyler McMichael was another big win out of the Peach State, as was ESPN 300 cornerback Mario Goodrich out of the Show Me State. ESPN 300 athlete Derion Kendrick was an early win out of the home state. ESPN 300 running back Lyn-J Dixon is another nice addition out of Georgia. Three-star linebacker Jake Venables is the son of Tiger defensive coordinator Brent Venables.

The Hurricanes are in search of their first top-five class since they landed the No. 1 class in 2008, and the odds are looking good, with ESPN 300 running backs Lorenzo Lingard and Camron Davis leading a talented group of offensive signees. ESPN 300 tight ends Brevin Joedan and Will Mallory join the talented backs on the signee list, as do four-star receivers Brian Hightower, Mark Pope and Daquris Wiggins. Mark Richt has also landed an ESPN 300 QB in Jarren Williams and a pair of talented offensive guards, Cleveland Reed and Delone Scaife. On defense, the future of the secondary has to be addressed, and hard-hitting safety Gurvan Hall was a huge win over SEC competition, while versatile ESPN 300 Al Blades Jr. is one of three talented cornerbacks to sign with the Hurricanes. ESPN 300 defensive tackle Nesta Silvera had a monster spring at American Heritage, where Miami defensive backs coach Mike Rumph used to be the head coach. South Florida four-star pass-rusher Patrick Joyner was a nice flip from Florida State to kick off December.

After a slow start, Willie Taggart's transition class came together nicely. Signing ESPN 300 defensive tackle Robert Cooper was a must. ESPN 300 cornerbacks Asante Samuel Jr. and A.J. Lytton are as talented as any in the country at the position, and signatures are secured. The flip of ESPN 300 safety Jaiden Woodbey from Ohio State was a much-needed victory, as was signing ESPN 300 defensive back Isaiah Bolden. Signing ESPN 300s Malcolm Lamar and receiver Warren Thompson out of Armwood High near Tampa is a welcome change in Tallahassee. ESPN 300 athlete Tre'Shaun Harrison could play on either side of the ball for the Seminoles. Flipping four-star Under Armour All-America Game linebacker Xavier Peters from Kentucky was a needed victory, as was beating Miami for in-state four-star defensive tackle Dennis Briggs. Peach State offensive linemen Christian Meadows and Christian Armstrong will bring a powerful punch to the running game, but it's three-star tackle Jalen Goss who is the name to remember long-term. Picking up four-star California tight end Camren McDonald fills a key need. In-state four-star D'Marcus Adams was one of the Sunshine State's most improved as a senior.

The Hokies are set to sign back-to-back top-25 classes after another impressive haul in 2018. The state of North Carolina was huge for Justin Fuente and staff, with ESPN 300 receiver Tre Turner and four-star skill players D.J. Crossen and Nadir Thompson sending in letters of intent. The signings of ESPN 300 Quincy Patterson and four-star DeJuan Ellis provide quarterback options down the line. Inking ESPN JC 50 Jeremy Webb means an instant impact cornerback is headed to Blacksburg. Three-star defensive end Jaevon Becton was a needed in-state victory in January. Four-star receiver Darryle Simmons was a nice victory out of Philadelphia, while signing four-star linebacker Keshon Artis was an impactful in-state victory over ACC foes. The offensive line class is key, with upside tackles Walker Culver and Luke Tenuta and guard John Harris. Running backs Caleb Steward out of the Sunshine State and in-state speedster Coleton Beck were key signings.

The Tar Heels class has endured some big wins and tough losses after an injury-plagued season on the field. Receiving letters of intent from ESPN 300 receivers Dyami Brown and Jordyn Adams, along with four-star offensive tackle Avery Jones, means Larry Fedora and staff signed three of the top 12 prospects from inside state lines. Signing four-star quarterbacks Jace Ruder and long-time Texas A&M verbal Cade Fortin is huge for the future of the program. Along with Fortin, the Peach State netted three-stars Bryson Richardson, defensive tackle Jahlil Taylor and corner Trey Morrison. Three-star running back Devon Lawrence is the younger brother of Clemson standout defensive tackle Dexter Lawrence. Three-star linebacker Matthew Flint filled a big need.

The Cardinals continue to find success recruiting the Sunshine State, this year adding ESPN 300 linebacker Robert Hicks. South Florida also produced ESPN 300 Trenell Troutman, along with four-stars Chandler Jones, receiver Tyler Harrell and speedy outside linebacker Yasir Abdullah. More Florida playmaking will come from receiver Marcus Riley and defensive lineman Jarrett Jackson. Receivers Javian Hawkins and Chatarius Atwell are undersized but can fly. Holding off Florida's late run for Sunshine State quarterback Jordan Travis was also important. Four-star receiver Jatavious Harris was a nice win in Georgia. Louisville also attacked the junior college ranks, receiving signatures from ESPN JC 50 defensive end Mike Boykin, defensive tackle Jared Goldwire and UCF flip Nigel Kilby.

The Wolfpack ascended on the field in 2017 and have done the same on the recruiting trail, with a top-30 class. Four-star quarterback Devin Leary has signed and is a good bet to be the starter one day in Raleigh. Winning in-state is paramount, and the Wolfpack have signed ESPN 300 running back Ricky Person and linebacker Payton Wilson, a flip from archrival North Carolina. ESPN 300 defensive line prospect Alim McNeill is another key signee. Four-star athlete De'von Graves is a key signee out of neighboring Virginia. The Sunshine State is key for NC State, and defensive backs Tanner Ingle and Teshaun Smith have sent in letters of intent. Junior college defensive end Joe Babros, defensive tackle Val Martin and cornerback Kishawn Miller will be looked up to compete right away.

The Orange used Dino Babers' long-time connections in Texas to reel in high-ceiling three-star quarterback Chance Amie and three-star tackling machine Tre Allison. Four-star receiver Edward Hendrix was a nice win out of the nation's capital. Winning in-state prospects is always important, and three-star offensive tackle Qadir White, Atrilleon Williams and Gabe Horan are all likely to start games for Syracuse during their careers. The Sunshine State is always important for Syracuse, and three-star safeties Cameron Jonas and Andre Cisco were key wins, as was Orlando-area receiver Anthony Queeley. Junior college linebacker Lakiem Williams is a good bet to see the field right away.

The Yellow Jackets won some key battles to keep the talent at home, beating Virginia Tech for four-star athlete James Graham and several ACC schools for four-star defensive tackle T.K. Chimedza. Two more key in-state victories came from three-star receiver Malachi Carter and athlete Tijai Whatley. Three-star defensive tackle JaQuon Griffin was a one-time LSU verbal. Three-star Justice Dingle is a sound bet to be a future starting inside linebacker. The staff dipped into the Sunshine State to fill needs at cornerback in Juanyeh Thomas and Zamari Walton, who could also play receiver. Three-star athlete Jaylon King and running back Dontae Smith are quality signatures out of Tennessee.

Loading up on both lines was key for the Panthers in 2018. On the offensive line, junior college guard Chase Brown could start quickly and is joined by three-stars Blake Zubovic, Jake Kradel and junior college guard Devon Davis. On the defensive line, tackle Tyler Bentley will push for time next season, as could three-star tackle Devin Danielson and end John Morgan. Three-star defensive end Kaymar Mimes is a name to remember down the line. Two quarterbacks signed in the class, including the well-traveled Ricky Town. Secondary help comes from the Sunshine State in safety V'Lique Carter and cornerback Marquis Williams.

Virginia continues to add offensive skill talent under Bronco Mendenhall with the signings this week of receivers Ugo Obasi and Billy Kemp and versatile athletes Noah Taylor, Tavares Kelly and Wooby Theork-Youmans. A pair of quarterbacks signed, too: junior college transfer Bryce Perkins and four-star Brennan Armstrong.

The Demon Deacons built a solid class primarily from three states: North Carolina, Georgia and Florida. The Peach State will bring a handful of three-star defenders to the program in cornerbacks Kenneth Dicks III and Nasir Greer, safety Peyton Woulard, upside defensive end Royce Francis and linebacker JaCorey Johns. Wake Forest didn't have to go far for the quarterback in the class, Sam Hartman, and the same can be said for three-star tight end Blake Whiteheart, both of whom are from North Carolina. Three-star receiver Atorian Perry and defensive tackle Dion Bergen were key grabs out of the Sunshine State, while the staff headed north to the DMV for key offensive line signings three-star guard Michael Jurgens and tackle Devonte Gordon.

The Blue Devils' class is another that features some key additions on defense, as David Cutcliffe and staff continue to shore up that side of the ball. Four-star defensive tackle Tahj Rice and three-star linebackers Rocky Shelton and Shaka Heyward were terrific letters of intent received. Three-star defensive tackle Elijah Brown, cornerback Kendrick Torain and safety Nate Thompson will all factor into future plans. Three-star Lone Star State cornerback Jeremiah Lewis will end up being the steal of the class. On offense, four-star quarterback Gunnar Holmberg was a nice in-state victory, while three-star offensive tackle Casey Holman was the same in the Peach State.

The Eagles filled a linebacker need nicely with three-stars Hugh Davis out of Indiana, Vinny DePalma, Nick DeNucci and Evan Stewart out of the Garden State, and Joseph Sparacio out of the Sunshine State. Another area of need was the offensive line, and the signatures include in-state guard Finn Dirstine, guard Thomas Shelmire out of Texas and tackle Tyler Vrabel, the son of Mike Vrabel. There are a pair of quarterbacks in the class in three-stars Matt Valecce and Johnny Langan. Kicking field goals in the future for the Eagles will be John Tessitore, the son of ESPN's Joe Tessitore.

Tom Herman's first full class in Austin will result in Texas' first top-five class since 2012. The Longhorns' class is headlined by ESPN 300 quarterbacks Cameron Rising, a flip from Oklahoma, and Casey Thompson, the son of former Sooners QB Charles Thompson. Both signal-callers have signed and are joined by ESPN 300 receiver signees Al'vonte Woodard and Brennan Eagles and versatile ESPN 300 receiver Joshua Moore. ESPN 300 tight end Malcolm Epps has serious long-term potential. Offensive tackle is a position of need, and signing ESPN 300s Reese Moore, Sione Angilau Jr. and Rafiti Ghirmai is a start to shoring up depth issues in Austin. A handful of talented ESPN 300 defensive backs have signed in safeties Caden Sterns, B.J. Foster and DeMarvion Overshown and cornerbacks Anthony Cook, D'Shawn Jamison and Jalen Green. Kicker Cameron Dicker has signed and could compete for the job from day one. ESPN 300 defensive tackle Keondre Coburn and ESPN 300 running back Keaontay Ingram filled huge needs when they signed Feb. 7. Defensive line help is one the way from in-state with four-star Moro Oromo and from out of state with three-stars Daniel Carson and Mike Williams. ESPN 300 Joseph Ossai's signature adds a much-needed edge rusher to the defense in Austin.

The Sooners have a second straight top-10 class for the first time in 13 years. Signing ESPN 300 Brey Walker was a huge in-state win after a late run by Texas A&M, as was getting ESPN 300 defensive ends Ron Tatum III and Ronnie Perkins over archrival Texas. Adding to the defensive line haul were the signings of ESPN 300 Michael Thompson, four-star end Jalen Redmond and three-star tackle Jordan Kelley. ESPN 300 running back T.J. Pledger is an impactful signing out of California, as is ESPN 300 cornerback and return man Brendan Radley-Hiles. The signing of ESPN 300 quarterback Tanner Mordecai out of the Lone Star State will be remembered down the line. Beating archrival Texas for ESPN 300 outside linebacker Nikolas Bonitto and flipping four-star DaShaun White from Texas A&M were huge January victories. Joining Walker on the offensive line are signees Darrell Simpson and ESPN JC 50 and onetime Oklahoma State signee Tramonda Moore. ESPN 300 Jaquayln Crawford and Jaylon Robinson are playmaking signees out of Texas. The Sooners went to Tennessee to sign four-star receiver KunDarrius Taylor. Four-stars Miguel Edwards and Starrland Baldwin Jr. will fill needs at cornerback.

Matt Rhule continues his rebuild at Baylor with a recruiting class in the top 25. The class is headlined by a boatload of speed, with signatures from ESPN 300 Joshua Fleeks, cornerback and one-time Arkansas verbal Byron Hanspard and four-star state sprint champion Kalon Barnes. ESPN 300 running back and return man Craig Williams adds speed and playmaking. All of the speed and playmaking is music to the ears of ESPN 300 quarterback Gerry Bohanon. Along those lines, winning for ESPN JC 50 Johncarlo Valentin means an impact guard is headed to Waco. Signing ESPN 300 offensive tackle Connor Galvin was a must, as was inking four-star defensive tackle Joshua Landry. Additional offensive line depth will come in the form of tackles Jackson Kimble and Casey Phillips. Three-star defensive end Marje Smith is a name to remember after a year or two of physical development.

The Horned Frogs quietly built a very impressive class headlined by ESPN 300 quarterback Justin Rogers. Rogers is joined on offense by four-star receiver signees Tevailance Hunt and Bryson Jackson out of Texas and three-star John Stephens out of the Pelican State. Chase Van Wagoner joins Hunt as another one of the Lone Star State's most under-valued prospects. ESPN 300 running back Fabian Franklin was a huge flip from Mississippi State in December. Offensive line is a key need in 2018, and Gary Patterson and staff have answered with letters of intent from ESPN JC 50 impact junior college tackle Anthony McKinney, versatile four-star Esteban Avila and three-stars Kris Dike and John Lanz. On defense, ESPN 300 safety Atanza Vongor will call the defense down the line. Three-star Taye Barber is another name to remember due to his versatile playmaking. The signing of ESPN JC 50 tight end Pro Wells will bring an impact player to Fort Worth.

The Cowboys' class features what is expected to be the future signal-caller in ESPN 300 Spencer Sanders. Sanders is joined on offense by ESPN 300 receiver C.J. Moore and upside three-star pass-catcher Jonathan Shepherd out of the Lone Star State. Signing four-star athlete Sean Michael Flanagan and four-star cornerback Tanner McCalister was huge for the future of the secondary in Stillwater. Offensive line is a key position of need in 2018, and the Cowboys have signed four-star in-state tackle Bryce Bray along with three-stars Tyrese Williams, Hunter Anthony, Hunter Woodard and Jacob Farrell. Signing three-star defensive end Braden Cassity will be looked back upon as a steal out of Texas. The same could be said for three-star running back Jahmyl Jeter out of San Antonio.

The Mountaineers' class is headlined by ESPN 300 in-state defensive end Dante Stills, ESPN 300 safety Kwantel Raines and ESPN 300 quarterback Woodrow Lowe III. Offensive line is a key position of need, and West Virginia has answered the bell with three-star guard and Ole Miss flip Blaine Scott, three-star tackle Oyenmwen Uzebu and guard Briason Mays. Wide receivers Bryce Wheaton, Sam James and Randy Fields will bring more playmaking to Morgantown. A need at tight end was addressed with three-stars T.J. Banks and Mike O'Laughlin. On defense, junior college linebacker Charlie Benton and cornerback Josh Norwood are looked upon to make an instant impact.

The Cyclones' class might not feature star power, but plenty of needs were met. Junior college safety and one-time Ole Miss signee Greg Eisworth is a good bet to start quickly. Three-star Re-al Mitchell will bring an athletic dimension to the quarterback position in Ames. Three-star offensive tackle Joey Ramos out of Arizona was a nice win for the Clones over Arizona State. Wide receiver was a key position of need in 2018, and the returns are positive with three-star slot Carson Schleker, Joseph Scates, 6-foot-6 Sean Shaw Jr. out of Oklahoma and Darien Porter. Three-star defensive end Will McDonald is a name to remember after a year of physical development.

Kliff Kingsbury built momentum nicely off the regular-season-ending victory over Texas. An array of receiver talent is headed to Lubbock in ESPN 300 Gabriel Douglas, four-star Erik Ezukanma and senior riser Myller Royals. The class of receivers makes three-star quarterback Alan Bowman a happy camper. On defense, three-star outside linebacker Xavier Benson has exceptional leadership qualities and a high ceiling. Three-star defensive tackle Jaylon Hutchings is undersized but a terrific athlete. Three-star defensive end John Scott is one to watch down the line.

The signings of four-star cornerback Corione Harris and four-star playmaker Anthony Williams out of Louisiana make the class for David Beaty and staff. A third key win was three-star Lone Star State offensive guard Jacobi Lott, who was a senior riser with major attention in December. The junior college ranks were paramount in the 2018 cycle, and the staff added three-stars Najee Stevens-McKenzie, end Azur Kamara, receiver Stephon Robinson, long-armed cornerback Elijah Jones and safety Davon Ferguson, among others. More than half the class comes from the junior college ranks.

The Wildcats continue to quietly go about their business with continued focus on Texas and the junior college ranks. Three-star guard Christian Duffie and three-star quarterback John Holcombe out of the Houston area headline the talent from the Lone Star State, along with three-star defensive end Spencer Trussell. However, it might be three-star, high-upside offensive tackle Kaitori Leveston who emerges as the jewel long-term. Three-star junior college cornerbacks Kevion McGee and Darreyl Patterson will be called up to play right away, as will junior college linebacker Rahsaan York. Three-star defensive tackle Derick Newton was a nice grab out of the Peach State.

The Buckeyes will sign a top-seven class for an eighth straight year, with five-star offensive tackle Nicholas Petit-Frere's signing day announcement the icing on the cake. No. 1-ranked DT Taron Vincent leads a group of signees on the defensive side of the ball that includes ESPN JC 50 No. 1-ranked defensive tackle and former Auburn signee Antwuan Jackson Jr., No. 3-ranked defensive tackle Tommy Togiai, ESPN 300 inside linebacker Teradja Mitchell and ESPN 300 defensive backs Tyreke Johnson, Sevyn Banks and Josh Proctor. ESPN 300 defensive end Tyreke Smith was a force in the Under Armour All-America Game, and No. 9-ranked defensive tackle Tyler Friday is another defensive lineman with a high ceiling. Four-star quarterback Matthew Baldwin leads an offensive class of signees that is headlined by No. 1-ranked tight end Jeremy Ruckert, speedster Jaelen Gill and ESPN 300 offensive linemen Matthew Jones and Max Wray. A trio of ESPN 300 receivers have also signed in Kamryn Babb, Cameron Brown and L'Christian Smith, along with four-star running backs Brian Snead and Master Teague.

James Franklin and his staff have made the most of 2016's Big Ten title and Rose Bowl appearance with a top-five class. The class is headlined by five-stars Micah Parsons and Justin Shorter as well as speedy ESPN 300 running back Ricky Slade. A pair of four-star tight ends, Patrick Freiermuth and Zack Kuntz, fills a key need. ESPN 300 tackles Rasheed Walker, Nana Asiedu and Antwan Reed and ESPN 300 guard Fredrick Scruggs were also key wins at a position of need. On defense, linebacker and defensive line were the key areas of need in the class, and Jesse Luketa and Nick Tarburton are athletic prospects to remember. Signing ESPN 300 defensive end Jayson Oweh and defensive tackles P.J. Mustipher and four-star Aeneas Hawkins to go with Parsons is huge for the Nittany Lions. Four-star defensive back Jordan Miner was a nice win out of the Sunshine State.

Even without the notoriety of previous years, Michigan continues to stockpile talent and fill key needs. The signing of ESPN 300 signal-caller Joe Milton following the news that former Ole Miss starter Shea Patterson would transfer to Ann Arbor is huge. Michigan went into Texas and signed the best tight end in the state in ESPN 300 Mustapha Muhammad. In-state ESPN 300 defensive end Aidan Hutchinson and four-star offensive tackle Ryan Hayes have high ceilings. The Peach State continues to be great for Michigan, with safety Myles Sims and ESPN 300 running back Christian Turner. Signing ESPN 300 linebacker Cameron McGrone was also big. Lone Star State twins Gemon Green and German Green will bring 6-foot-2 frames to the cornerback position. Versatile athlete Michael Barrett out of the Peach State could end up on either side of the ball.

New coach Scott Frost has come into his alma mater and sparked the Cornhuskers. The biggest victory was flipping QB Adrian Martinez from Tennessee. Nebraska has attacked the junior college ranks for instant-impact players, with ESPN JC 50 receiver Jaron Woodyard, running back Greg Bell, inside linebacker Will Honas and safety Deontai Williams all expected to compete for starting spots. The Sunshine State will be key for Frost moving forward, and the signings of ESPN 300 safety C.J. Smith, receivers Dominick Watt and Miles Jones, tight end Justin McGriff and safety Braxton Clark are key wins. ESPN 300 tight end Cameron Jurgens was a must from in-state to keep in the class after the coaching change. Four-star safety Cam'ron Jones out of Texas and four-star defensive end Caleb Tannor out of Georgia will be in the two-deep early in Lincoln.

Fleck has the Golden Gophers in the top 30 with ESPN 300 defensive end and Kentucky flip Alex Reigelsperger, ESPN 300 offensive guard Curtis Dunlap Jr. and four-star tackle Daniel Faalele being the most impactful wins. Defensive line is a key position of need in 2018, and three-stars Elijah Teague, end Abi Okonji, tackle Logan Richter and Mayan Ahanotu have more than filled needs. The state of Georgia has been attacked by the staff, with the returns netting four-star receiver Terrell Smith, three-star pass-catcher Rashod Bateman, three-star running back Nolan Edmonds and linebacker Braelen Oliver. Four-star quarterback Brennan Armstrong and three-star receiver Jornell Manns were key grabs out of Ohio. Four-star junior college quarterback Victor Viramontes could play quickly.

The Terrapins have put together a second straight quality class under the leadership of DJ Durkin following a top-20 class in 2017. ESPN 300 offensive tackle Jaelyn Duncan and defensive tackle Austin Fontaine continue the trend of key in-state signatures. Four-star quarterback Tyler DeSue was a key signature out of Virginia, as were high-ceiling three-stars Durell Nchami and Tyler Baylor from the home state. Peach State tight end Chigoziem Okonkwo fills a need, as does four-star receiver Darryl Jones out of Virginia. Junior college offensive tackle signee T.J. Bradley will be looked upon to compete for a starting job immediately.

The Spartans' class is headlined by four-star, in-state quarterback Theo Day and four-star tight end Trenton Gillison out of the all-important, fertile grounds of Ohio. Day will receive future protection from three-star guards James Ohonba and Jacob Isaia and three-star tackle Dimitri Douglas. On defense, four-star defensive backs Kalon Gervin, Christian Jackson and Michael Dowell are expected to be impact two-deep players. Four-star defensive end Parks Gissinger was a nice win in California, as was three-star linebacker Chase Kline out of Ohio. Linebacker verbal Ed Warinner is the son of Minnesota offensive line coach Ed Warinner. January addition Jalen Nailor is another talented pass-catcher headed to East Lansing.

The Badgers continue to fly below the recruiting radar and evaluate very well. In the 2018 class, four-star cornerback Donte Burton and four-star athlete Aron Cruickshank receive most of the headlines, but the state of Michigan has produced some key wins for the Badgers. Three-star receiver A.J. Abbott II could hit the field early, as could three-star cornerback Reggie Pearson and Jaylan Franklin. Defensive end Boyd Dietzen was a nice win in-state, as was inking upside linebacker prospects C.J. Goetz and Mason Platter. The quarterback in the class is three-star Chase Wolf out of Ohio. Three-star signee Nakia Watson is a very good scheme fit at running back.

Four-star safety Dallas Craddieth is another key signee out of Missouri. Three-star junior college defensive tackle Daviyon Nixon signed and will play quickly, while high school prospects Tyler Linderbaum and Noah Shannon are names to lock away.

Jeff Brohm's first full class at Purdue has come together nicely, with four-star quarterback Jack Plummer playing the role of headliner. Plummer will have some talented receivers to throw to, with three-stars Kory Taylor, Amad Anderson and Jordan Bonner having signed. Three-star offensive tackles Jimmy McKenna and Will Bramel and three-star guard Charles Allen have signed as future protectors of Plummer. Defensive end was a key position of need, and the signing of three-stars Jack Sullivan, Branson Deen and Kelvin Stokes will need to provide depth early on. Junior college linebacker Evander Craft is a good bet to compete for a job from jump street.

The Hoosiers won for three-star quarterback and one-time Tennessee verbal Michael Penix in December to add to an offensive class that features signatures from four-star running back Ronnie Walker and three-star offensive tackle Aidan Rafferty. Three-star defensive ends James Head and Madison Norris will bring edge pass-rush ability after some weight is added to their frames. The Sunshine State was targeted for defensive back help with the signings of Devon Matthews and Noah Pierre. Three-star cornerback Jamar Johnson was another Sunshine State addition in January.

After finishing with the No. 44-ranked class in 2017, the Wildcats are back inside the top 50 in 2018, with a class headlined by four-star in-state players Devin O'Rourke and Wyatt Blake. Two more four-stars in the class are quarterback Jason Whittaker and linebacker Khalid Jones out of South Carolina. Speedy receiver and return man Jacob Jefferson falls in line with some prior grabs out of the Lone Star State. Three-star safety Jeremiah McDonald was a nice get out of Louisiana, as were Jaylen Rivers out of Georgia and Sunshine State cornerback A.J. Hampton.

The Illini have quietly put together a nice class led by ESPN 300 defensive tackle out of the Lone Star State Calvin Avery and Under Armour All-America Game center and one-time Florida State verbal Verdis Brown. A third four-star in the class is offensive tackle Reuben Unije. The state of Florida has been key in the 2018 cycle for Lovie Smith and staff, with three-stars Kerby Joseph, slot receiver Carlos Sandy, linebacker Khalan Tolson and cornerbacks Jartavius Martin and Ron Hardge III among 11 Sunshine State signees. There are two quarterback prospects in the class: three-stars Coran Taylor and M.J. Rivers. Three-star offensive guard Kievan Myers will bring a high ceiling to Illinois from the Dallas area.

ESPN 300 quarterback Artur Sitkowski brings serious arm power that needs development, while three-stars Jalen Jordan and Daevon Robinson are impact receivers. Another skill player with the chance to make an early impact is three-star running back Isaih Pacheco. Three-star athlete Zihir Lacewell could end up on either side on the ball. Three-star offensive tackle Raiqwon O'Neal heads to New Brunswick with a high ceiling. Junior college safety Malik Dixon is a good bet to push for time from day one. Three-star cornerbacks Avery Young and Jarrett Paul are likely to push for time as well.

Daniels' moving into the 2018 class gives the class a big-time signal-caller who can compete right away, with Sam Darnold heading to the NFL. ESPN 300 Amon-Ra St. Brown will be an impact receiver and a big part of the future of the offense. ESPN 300 linebackers Palaie Gaoteote and Raymond Scott were key wins on the trail, as was No. 2-ranked center Justin Dedich and ESPN 300 running back and one-time Notre Dame verbal Markese Stepp. ESPN 300 athlete Talanoa Hufanga is one to watch when he finds his best position at the next level. The fax from ESPN JC 50 Caleb Tremblay means the Trojans have an impact defensive tackle on the way. Winning for the signatures of Chase Williams and defensive end Abdul-Malik McClain means beating Nebraska and archrival UCLA for two top area prospects. Landing DT Trevor Trout is key, with ESPN 300 tackle Tuli Letuligasenoa flipping to Washington.

Washington's top-20 class is headlined by a pair of ESPN 300 QB signees in Jacob Sirmon and Colson Yankoff. The talented duo will have ESPN 300 prospects Marquis Spiker and Austin Osborne to deliver the ball to and a pair of talented running backs to hand off to in-state four-star Trey Lowe and senior riser Richard Newton out of California. Offensive line is a key area of need, and tackles Vick Curne, Matteo Mele and M.J. Ale are key for the future, as is ESPN 300 guard Sam Taimani. The same can be said for defensive tackle Draco Bynum and end Mosiah Nasili-Liu. The flip of ESPN 300 defensive tackle Tuli Letuligasenoa from USC more than fills the need. Signing ESPN 300 in-state cornerback Kyler Gordon was a needed victory at a position of need. ESPN 300 safety Julius Irvin was a terrific win in California over Pac-12 and SEC competition.

New head coach Mario Cristobal managed to keep the Ducks' class together after Willie Taggart left for Florida State. Signing ESPN 300 signal-caller Tyler Shough is huge for depth and development at the position. Receiving letters of intent from ESPN 300s Steve Stephens, versatile athlete Jevon Holland and powerful guard Steven Jones was paramount for recruiting efforts in California. The same can be said for signing ESPN 300 tackle Dawson Jaramillo from inside state lines. Keeping ESPN 300 running back Jamal Elliott out of North Carolina in the fold turned into another key signing. Adding ESPN 300 receivers Jalen Hall and Isaah Crocker in January were two more key wins in California for the staff. ESPN 300 tight end Spencer Webb could be the steal of the cycle on the West Coast. Under Armour All-America Game linebacker Adrian Jackson covers like a safety. Three-star inside linebacker Eli'jah Winston is not expected to sign until February.

Chip Kelly has done well with his transition class. The Bruins got a commitment from the class leader April 23, when ESPN 300 quarterback Dorian Thompson-Robinson announced, and he is a near perfect fit for Kelly's system. Receiver is a key need in the class, and ESPN 300s Kyle Phillips and Chase Cota will help fill the need. Speedy three-star Kazmeir Allen will be a weapon in Kelly's offense. ESPN 300 Bryan Addison was a huge win out of USC-dominated Junipero Serra High and could line up at receiver or safety. Safety is another key need, and Stephan Blaylock figures to find his way into the rotation in year one. Four-star guard Chris Murray could be seen in the two-deep as a freshman, while four-star outside linebacker Bo Calvert is one to watch down the line. Four-star defensive linemen Elijah Wade and Tyler Manoa will likely find their way into the rotation during the 2018 season, while junior college linebacker Tyree Thompson and end Steven Mason will push right away.

The Cardinal quietly go about their business and continue to sign talented players with a top-40 class of quality prospects. ESPN 300 quarterback Jack West and ESPN 300 receiver Michael Wilson are key early signees on offense, while ESPN 300 defensive ends Andres Fox, Thomas Booker and Tobe Umerah filled a key need. The state of Texas is always targeted by Stanford, and the returns in 2018 include offensive lineman Trey Stratford, linebacker Jacob Mangum-Farrar and cornerback Ethan Bonner. Peach State three-star linebacker Caleb Kelly has a nice frame to develop.

Three-star defensive tackle Israel Antwine out of Oklahoma was a need-filling win, as was defensive end Joshka Gustav. On offense, four-star quarterback Blake Stenstrom has signed, along with four-star receiver Dylan Thomas and three-star playmaker Dimitri Stanley. Three-star offensive tackle Frank Fillip has a high ceiling. Junior college tight end Darrion Jones is another who will be expected to hit the field quickly.

Defensive linemen Jackson Cravens and Blake Kuithe will factor into the two-deep competition down the line. Three-star Jack Tuttle is the signal-caller in the class and has talented ESPN 300 Solomon Enis and South Florida receiver Terrell Perriman to throw the ball to. Offensive line was a key need in 2018, and the efforts netted three-star guards Paul Maile, Hunter Lotulelei, Braeden Daniels and three-star tackle Jaren Kump.

Replenishing the defense was key in the class, and the signings of junior college defensive tackle Jonathan Lolohea, junior college linebacker Kendrick Catis and three-star defensive tackle Ahmir Crowder could factor in early. Three-star safety D'Angelo McKenzie is a name to remember down the line.

Help on defense will be heavily influenced by junior college transfers Cassius Peat, ESPN JC 50 cornerback Dominique Harrison and three-star cornerback Terin Adams. Three-star linebacker Reggie Hughes and safety Elyjah Doyle will bring playmaking from Southern California.

Fields is joined on offense by ESPN 300 No. 1-ranked running back Zamir White, No. 3-ranked running back James Cook and ESPN 300 receiver Kearis Jackson, as well as ESPN 300 tight end Luke Ford and upside three-star tight end John FitzPatrick. The Bulldogs have signed the top two guards in the country, Trey Hill and Jamaree Salyer, along with tackles Cade Mays, Warren Ericson and Owen Condon. Five-star Brenton Cox and ESPN 300 pass-rushers Adam Anderson and Azeez Ojulari are potential difference-makers down the line. Four-star Jordan Davis is another key defensive lineman in the fold, and ESPN 300 outside linebacker Channing Tindall is another rangy defender in the class. Five-star cornerback Tyson Campbell was a huge signing day victory over Miami and Alabama. ESPN 300 cornerback and one-time Florida verbal Divaad Wilson has signed, as has ESPN 300 safety and Alabama flip Nadab Joseph. The Dawgs also flipped four-star DT Otis Reese from Michigan. It starts with five-star pass-rushing specialist Eyabi Anoma sending in his letter of intent, and five-star cornerback Patrick Surtain Jr.'s signing day announcement. Defensive line is a huge position of need in 2018, and Nick Saban and staff have answered with the signing of ESPN 300s Stephon Wynn and Jordan Davis, along with versatile DE/OLB Cameron Latu. ESPN 300 defensive tackle prospect Christian Barmore was a huge win Dec. 20. Defensive back is another key position of need, and signing ESPN JC 50 and one-time LSU corner Saivion Smith and ESPN 300 Jalyn Armour-Davis was key. Flipping ESPN 300 cornerback Josh Jobe from Miami added another talented prospect to the defensive backfield. ESPN 300 Xavier Williams has signed, adding another talented receiver prospect to the program. Signing ESPN 300 offensive tackle Tommy Brown will provide future depth, while ESPN 300 guard Emil Ekiyor was a huge flip from Michigan to end October.

ESPN 300 quarterback Joey Gatewood has a very high ceiling, while diminutive ESPN 300 running back Shaun Shivers has 10.5 100-meter speed. ESPN 300 Anthony Schwartz brings game-changing speed to the receiver position. In-state four-star running back Asa Martin was a nice win over SEC powers, as was ESPN 300 Harold Joiner, and both should help offset the loss of the top two running backs in the program. ESPN 300 Matthew Hill and four-star Shedrick Jackson will be nice additions at receiver. ESPN 300 Seth Williams could end up on either side of the ball. On defense, the state of Georgia has been paramount as always, with ESPN 300s safety Quindarious Monday, defensive back Christian Tutt, outside linebacker Zakoby McClain and four-star speedy linebackers Michael Harris and Richard Jibunor having signed. Versatile four-star signee Jamien Sherwood will bring instant depth to the secondary, as will in-state ESPN 300 defensive tackle Coynis Miller Jr. ESPN 300 defensive end Kayode Oladele was a nice December addition.

Future playmakers on defense will come from signees Amari Burney, ESPN 300 cornerback Trey Dean and safety Johnathan Huggins. Three-star Dante Lang could play tight or defensive end for the Gators. ESPN 300 offensive tackle Richard Gouraige's signing helps fill a huge need, as does ESPN 300 edge-rusher Andrew Chatfield. Beating Alabama for three-star end Malik Langham was an impressive coup.

Smith is joined on the offensive line signing list by ESPN 300 guard Chasen Hines, ESPN JC 50 tackle Badara Traore and guard Damien Lewis. Four-star tackle Cameron Wire and Dare Rosenthal have nearly unlimited potential. On the defensive line, signing ESPN JC 50 Travez Moore gives Dave Aranda a versatile edge player. A trio of defensive tackles have signed in ESPN 300s Nelson Jenkins and Davin Cotton and Texas A&M three-star flip Dominic Livingston out of the Houston area. Three-star linebackers Micah Baskerville and Damone Clark will bring range to the position. ESPN 300 cornerback Kelvin Joseph was a needed in-state win over Alabama. Running back was a position of need, and signing ESPN 300 Chris Curry out of the Sunshine State is a start, with versatile Tae Provens expected to follow suit. Four-star receivers Jaray Jenkins and Kenan Jones possess nice combinations of size and speed. Three-star 6-foot-5 athlete Dantreize Scott is the sleeper in the class.

Beating Florida State for ESPN 300 quarterback James Foster on signing day fills a huge need. The Aggies have received letters of intent from ESPN 300 offensive linemen Colten Blanton and Tank Jenkins and four-stars Barton Clement and Luke Matthews, the youngest son of Bruce Matthews. Junior college tight end Jace Sternberger's signing means an instant-impact offensive weapon is on the way, as does ESPN JC 50 defensive tackle and one-time Oregon verbal Mohamed Diallo. Flipping ESPN 300 defensive tackle Bobby Brown from Alabama was a huge win Feb. 7. ESPN 300 safety Jordan Moore and four-star defensive tackle Max Wright were must-wins. The February fax from ESPN 300 Jalen Preston means an impact receiver is headed to College Station.

Receiving letters from ESPN 300 cornerbacks Jaycee Horn and Jonathan Gipson, ESPN 300 receiver Josh Vann and ESPN 300 defensive end Kingsley Enagbare were huge wins over SEC foes in the Peach State. Keeping ESPN 300 quarterback Dakereon Joyner in the fold was another key win. South Carolina addressed offensive line needs by signing center Hank Manos, ESPN 300 tackle Dylan Wonnum, guard Jovaughn Gwyn and tackle Jesus Gibbs. Running backs Deshaun Fenwick and Lavonte Valentine will bring tackle-breaking ability and speed from the Sunshine State.

Receiving the fax from ESPN JC 50 Dominick Wood-Anderson means the Volunteers have an impact tight end on the way, and the same can be said for ESPN JC 50 edge rusher and one-time TCU verbal Jordan Allen, as well as ESPN JC 50 offensive tackle Jahmir Johnson. ESPN 300 linebacker J.J. Peterson will be an impact player in Knoxville. Signing three-star quarterback J.T. Shrout was paramount, as was signing receiver Alontae Taylor. Beating Auburn and Florida for three-star in-state guard Jerome Carvin's signature was a needed victory. Carvin's teammate, Jeremy Banks, is a sleeper at running back.

Signing ESPN 300 signal-caller Jalen Mayden was a must, as was signing extremely high-upside ESPN 300 guard Kwatrivous Johnson. Holding onto athlete Marcus Murphy was must, and the fax was received. Three-star defensive end Jaden Crumedy is one of several upside defenders in the class. Hard-hitting junior college linebacker Sh'mar Kilby-Lane is a former Florida State signee.

The Rebels surprised in December with the signing ESPN 300 receiver Elijah Moore, a flip from Georgia. Moore is joined on offense by ESPN 300 quarterback signee Matt Corral and ESPN JC 50 No. 1-ranked running back Scott Phillips. Two more four-star prospects who signed early are defensive tackle James Williams, an in-state flip from Mississippi State, and receiver Demarcus Gregory out of South Carolina. Shoring up the defensive line is a key need for Matt Luke and staff in 2018, and the signings of three-star tackles Jalen Cunningham and Quentin Bivens is a step in the right direction, as is four-star junior college tackle Noah Jefferson. Four-star inside linebackers Jacquez Jones and Kevontae' Ruggs are nice additions out of Alabama. Four-star receiver and one-time Oregon verbal Miles Battle is a nice snag out of the Lone Star State.

The Sunshine State is also vital for Kentucky's success and netted letters of intent from receivers Bryce Oliver and Marvin Alexander, defensive backs Stanley Garner, Ashtan Pierre and Jamari Brown, defensive end Davoan Hawkins and undervalued guard Kenneth Horsey out of the Orlando area. Three-star receiver Liallen Dailey was a nice January grab out of Alabama, as was offensive tackle Nick Lewis out of the Sunshine State.

The Commodores have a top-40 recruiting class for the first time since 2013, with ESPN 300s Tre Douglas, Camron Johnson and in-state Tennessee flip Brendon Harris having all signed. As usual, the class has a national feel, with four-star quarterback Allan Walters headed to Nashville from New Jersey, and four-star linebacker Alston Orji from Texas. Walters' high school center, three-star Daniel Dawkins, is on the offensive line signing list along with three-star guard Wyatt Smock. The Sunshine State is also represented by running back Javeon Marlow, safety Maxwell Worship and versatile three-star lineman Tyler Steen. Signing three-star tight ends Gavin Schoenwald and Ben Bresnahan filled a key need. Tar Heel State senior riser Lorenzo Surgers is a name to lock away at defensive end.

Three-star tight end Messiah Swinson features some serious frame potential.

Three-star Bumper Pool is already on campus and could push for time at inside linebacker. Junior college running back and one-time Texas A&M signee Rakeem Boyd will play in the opener.
