We've reached Week 16 of the 2020 NFL Eliminator Challenge. Are you one of the lucky 4.2% still alive, even after the two huge upsets last week?
The rules are simple: Pick a winner each week, and don't use the same team twice. If you win all 17 weeks (or outlast your fellow group members), you're the champ. You can find all the rules here.
We will look at the top Eliminator options each week, using betting lines (Caesars Sportsbook by William Hill), ESPN's Football Power Index (FPI) and more. (For more on how FPI is calculated, click here and here.)
Here are our recommendations for Week 16:
Baltimore Ravens vs. New York Giants
You've probably used the Ravens by now, but in case you haven't, they're the biggest favorites of the week according to both the FPI and Caesars Sportsbook by William Hill. Baltimore is 9-5, including three wins in a row. New York is 5-9 and has lost its past two.
Line: Ravens -11
FPI favorite: Ravens 80.4%
Eliminator Challenge: 4% selected
Kansas City Chiefs vs. Atlanta Falcons
The same goes for the Chiefs -- you've probably already selected them, but they're the second-biggest favorites according to the FPI, and at Caesars Sportsbook by William Hill. Kansas City is 13-1, including nine wins in a row. Atlanta is 4-10 and has lost its past three.
Line: Chiefs -10.5
FPI favorite: Chiefs 79.3%
Eliminator Challenge: 7% selected
Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Detroit Lions
The Buccaneers are 9-5, including two wins in a row, but they've yet to clinch a playoff spot so have plenty to play for. The Lions, on the other hand, are 5-9 and coming off two straight losses. Tampa Bay is the third-biggest favorite of the week according to the FPI, despite being on the road.
Line: Buccaneers -9.5
FPI favorite: Buccaneers 78.0%
Eliminator Challenge: 12% selected
Others to consider: Browns (-9.5) at Jets, Bears (-7.5) at Jaguars, Saints (-7) vs. Vikings
The Browns and Bears will be popular picks this week, currently selected by 28% and 23% respectively in the Eliminator Challenge. But it's worth noting that they're only the fifth- and sixth-best choices according to the FPI, which likes the Saints more, as well as the three teams mentioned above.
