We've reached Week 11 of the 2020 NFL Eliminator Challenge, with 12.7% of entries still perfect. So there's work to do yet!
The rules are simple: Pick a winner each week, and don't use the same team twice. If you win all 17 weeks (or outlast your fellow group members), you're the champ. You can find all the rules here.
We will look at the top Eliminator options each week, using betting lines (Caesars Sportsbook by William Hill), ESPN's Football Power Index (FPI) and more. (For more on how FPI is calculated, click here and here.)
Here are our recommendations for Week 11:
Pittsburgh Steelers at Jacksonville Jaguars
The Steelers remain the lone unbeaten team in the NFL, now 9-0 after blowing out the Bengals last week. The Jaguars are 1-8 and have lost eight straight, although they just nearly upset the Packers. Pittsburgh is the biggest favorite of the week according to both the FPI and the bookmakers, despite this game being in Jacksonville.
Line: Steelers -10
FPI favorite: Steelers 85.8%
Eliminator Challenge: 16% selected
Minnesota Vikings vs. Dallas Cowboys
Here's an opportunity to pick a team with a losing record and still feel pretty confident. The Vikings are 4-5 but have won three in a row, including a victory in Chicago on Monday night. The Cowboys, on the other hand, have lost four in a row, although they did give the Steelers a scare this past Sunday. Minnesota is the second-biggest favorite according to the FPI, and currently getting a touchdown at Caesars Sportsbook by William Hill as well.
Line: Vikings -7
FPI favorite: Vikings 76.2%
Eliminator Challenge: 12% selected
Los Angeles Chargers vs. New York Jets
The Chargers are 2-7 and have lost three games in a row ... but they're playing the 0-9 Jets. New York is coming off a bye, but it still faces a cross-country trip. Los Angeles is only the fifth-biggest favorite according to the FPI, but the second-biggest according to the bookmakers.
Line: Chargers -8.5
FPI favorite: Ravens 69.9%
Eliminator Challenge: 31% selected
Others to consider: Chiefs (-6.5) at Raiders, Saints (-5) vs. Falcons
Those are the third- and fourth-best choices according to the FPI.
