UConn Huskies add women's basketball game at Arkansas Razorbacks on Jan. 28

With both programs looking to add a game because of previous cancellations, the No. 3 UConn women will travel to face No. 15 Arkansas on Jan. 28, it was announced Wednesday.

The Huskies have had four previous nonconference matchups canceled this season due to COVID-19 protocols, including games against top-10 teams Louisville and Baylor. UConn plays its second nonconference game at No. 25 Tennessee on Thursday (ESPN, 7 p.m. ET).

Arkansas lost an upcoming SEC game when Vanderbilt opted Monday to end its season because of COVID-19 concerns.

This matchup gives UConn junior guard Christyn Williams an unexpected "homecoming" game, as she is from Little Rock, Arkansas.

The programs' only previous meeting was Nov. 14, 1998, when the Huskies beat the Razorbacks 100-64 in San Jose, California.
