The Road to The Nationals recently concluded its first month of Dota 2 qualifiers, which included legs in Manila, Cebu City and Cagayan de Oro.
The four finalists -- two from the Manila leg and one each from Cebu City and Cagayan de Oro legs -- qualified for the Road to The Nationals finals, which will happen at the Esports and Gaming Summit 2018.
Sixteen teams competed in the Manila leg, as well as in Cebu City. Quid Pro Quo and Sterling Global Dragons reigned supreme in the Manila leg, which was held at the TNC Morayta on August 4, after beating Young Minds and IAP, respectively, in the best-of-three round that went the full distance.
Meanwhile, Polar Ace was able to come with a dominating victory in three games over Voyager to snag the lone finalist spot in the Cebu City leg held at Mineski Portal Banilad on August 11. Davao's Pride took the other finalist spot after a 2-0 sweep of Goliath Gaming in the Cagayan de Oro qualifier, which had 32 participating teams, on August 25.
Three more Dota 2 qualifiers will be held in Bacolod (September 22), Iloilo City (September 29), and Cavite (October 13) as four spots in the Road to The Nationals finals are still up for grabs.
The Bacolod and Iloilo City legs will produce one finalist each, while two will come out from Cavite.
The qualifiers for the other titles of the Road to The Nationals will also begin this month.
