TRENDING RUMORS
- Juventus forward Dušan Vlahović now appears certain to move on in the summer, with Gazzetta dello Sport reporting that Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United and Newcastle United are among a host of Premier League clubs leading the chase. The Serbia international is about to move into the final year of his contract, and Juve cannot afford the €12m salary he will be paid as of July 1, with the player unwilling to renegotiate those terms. Vlahović has lost his place in the team to January signing Randal Kolo Muani, and the Serie A club will look for a transfer fee of €40m to €45m. With the 25-year-old not interested in a move to Saudi Arabia at this stage, a transfer to England is most likely. Diario Sport reports that Vlahović has also been offered to Barcelona but they cannot afford the deal.
- João Félix is attracting interest from Galatasaray and Saudi Arabia after AC Milan opted not to sign him on a permanent deal this summer, reports Nicolo Schira. The 25-year-old has been on loan at AC Milan since January, but has generally struggled to make an impact at San Siro. As such, the Italian club aren't expected to trigger their option at the end of the season, which could open the door to the likes of Galatasaray and others. Félix is due to return to Chelsea in June, where he is under contract until 2031.
- Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah remains interested in a move to the Saudi Pro League, reports the Telegraph. Clubs in Saudi Arabia are believed to be "confident" of signing the 32-year-old in the summer. Still, it is expected that he will wait to see the proposal the Reds will give to him to remain at Anfield before advancing talks elsewhere. It is said that any potential move also wouldn't take place until after the FIFA Club World Cup in June.
- Barcelona sporting director Deco has drawn up a list of four possible full-back signings for the summer, according to Diario Sport. Vanderson, Marc Pubill, Jeremie Frimpong and Givairo Read are the names on the list as Barça look to add competition for Jules Koundé and Alejandro Balde next season. Deco is said to have been a fan of AS Monaco's Brazilian right-back Vanderson for a long time, while Barça have previously held talks about a deal for Almería's Pubill. Bayer Leverkusen's Frimpong, the report adds, is the "big dream" but probably out of the Catalan club's price range. Feyenoord youngster Read is the fourth player being considered.
- Several big clubs in Europe are keeping tabs on Juventus winger Kenan Yıldız, according to Gazzetta dello Sport. The 19-year-old scored the decisive goal in the Bianconeri's 1-0 win in Serie A over Genoa on Saturday. It is reported that despite the "first offers" for his signature being expected to arrive in the next transfer window, Yıldız has informed his representatives that he currently has no intention of leaving the Allianz Stadium.
EXPERT TAKE
ESPN's Dale Johnson on transfer links to Juventus striker Dušan Vlahović, and the future of Randal Kolo Muani.
Dušan Vlahović has been one of the most prolific strikers in Italian football since moving to Fiorentina from Partizan Belgrade in the summer of 2018.
In the seven seasons since moving to Italy, Vlahović has scored 86 goals in 196 appearances for Fiorentina and Juventus -- a tally only bettered by Lautaro Martinez (114 in 233) and Ciro Immobile (117 in 201).
Vlahović's 0.4 goals per game places him 10th in the list, however; or that's eighth for players to have played at least 50 matches.
The Serbian's problem has been the impact of Randal Kolo Muani since he joined on loan from Paris Saint-Germain in January. The France international has scored five goals in eight games, which has pushed Vlahović out of the first team.
The issue for Juve, however, is clear. They simply cannot afford to keep Vlahović for two reasons. The 25-year-old will move into the final year of his contract in the summer, which means he must be moved on if Juve are to get a decent transfer fee.
Added to that, Vlahović's contract was structed to give him a 50% wage rise in the final year of his contract, up to €12m from €8m.
Juve's answer is to try to extend Kolo Muani's loan from PSG for the 2025-26 season, bank the money from Vlahović and hope they can afford a permanent deal for the 26-year-old Kolo Muani in the summer of 2026. Juve would struggle to go beyond a transfer fee of €50m, so they need to make sure it's an obligation to complete the deal. If not, a stellar season for Kolo Muani could see clubs with bigger pockets move in.
