TOP STORY: Juventus eye Jorginho, De Jong moves
With striker Dusan Vlahovic now a member of Juventus, the club is said to be turning their attention to bolstering the midfield. And, according to Gazzetta dello Sport, the Bianconeri are interested in signing either Chelsea's Jorginho or Barcelona's Frenkie de Jong at the end of the season.
Jorginho, 30, has impressed for both Chelsea and Italy over the past year, winning the Champions League, Euro 2020, and finishing third in the 2021 Ballon d'Or rankings. The midfielder is out of contract at Stamford Bridge in 2023, with the player's representatives said to have already held discussions with the Juve hierarchy.
De Jong, 24, is another option for the Serie A side to strengthen in the middle of the park. The Netherlands international has struggled for Barcelona since his €75m switch from Ajax in 2019 and, as a result, the Blaugrana are willing to move him on amid their well-documented financial troubles.

22.00 GMT: Sport Italia journalist Rudy Galetti reports that Bryan Gil could join Valencia if Tottenham Hotspur confirm the signing of Dejan Kulusevski. Gil, 20, has been linked with a move away from north London throughout January, but should he make the switch to Los Che, it is reported that they will shelve talks with AC Milan for winger Samu Castillejo.
21.27 GMT: Marca writes that AS Monaco will only consider offers containing a transfer fee of at least €80m for 22-year-old midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni. With a number of clubs looking for reinforcements in midfield this January, the France international has found himself the subject of interest from clubs across Europe, but Chelsea and Manchester United are said to be leading the race for his signature.
20.54 GMT: Paris Saint-Germain have rejected an offer from Bayer Leverkusen to take 21-year-old midfielder Eric Dina Ebimbe on loan, according to Foot Mercato. The former France youth international is keen on leaving Parc des Princes in search of more playing time, but negotiations over an option to make the move permanent have proved a sticking point and PSG have shown little interest in continuing talks. With his contract set to expire in 18 months, Dina Ebimbe reportedly is ready to refuse new terms.
20.37 GMT: Goal reports that Chelsea attacker Tino Anjorin will go on loan to a Championship club after returning from his short-term stint with Lokomotiv Moscow. While Southampton had registered their interest in a permanent move for the 20-year-old England youth international, it now looks as though that approach will be slowed until the summer transfer window.
20.21 GMT: United States youth international and Bayern Munich midfielder Taylor Booth has signed a pre-contract with Eredivisie side Utrecht and will join the team this summer, a source has confirmed to ESPN's Jeff Carlisle. The Dutch club is also trying to secure Booth in the January transfer window, which would require a fee being paid to Bayern.
20.04 GMT: BBC Sport reports that Brighton & Hove Albion have rejected Newcastle United's opening bid of £7m for the transfer of defender Dan Burn. Graeme Potter's side are said to be demanding a higher fee because of a sell-on clause that obliges Brighton to send around 15% of any transfer fee to Wigan Athletic.
19.48 GMT: Juventus have beaten Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur to the signing of Fiorentina striker Dusan Vlahovic, the Bianconeri announced on Friday. 17.36 GMT: Atletico Madrid have had a €5m offer turned down for Marseille midfielder Boubacar Kamara, according to Marca. Despite the 22-year-olds contract expiring in the summer, the French club are looking for a transfer fee of €10m if they are to agree to lose him for the remainder of the season -- and there are plenty of suitors, with Manchester United and Newcastle United also said to be keen on a move.
17.03 GMT: West Ham United have initiated talks with Stade de Reims over a deal for striker Hugo Ekitike, according to Sky Sports. The Ligue 1 side are looking for a transfer fee of £25m if they are to part with the 19-year-old, who has eight goals in 10 league appearances so far this term, and is also on the radar of Newcastle United.
16.30 GMT: Fabrizio Romano says that talks are ongoing today between Manchester United and Crystal Palace over a loan move for midfielder Donny van de Beek.
Van de Beek, 24, has amassed a little over an hour of Premier League action at the halfway stage of the 2021-22 campaign and wants more regular playing time.
The Netherlands international may miss out on the World Cup later this year if he doesn't start getting games and the talks surround his salary and a possible loan fee, with sources telling ESPN that United boss Ralf Rangnick is relaxed about the possibility of letting him leave.
15.54 GMT: Everton want to sign Chelsea midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek, says The Daily Mail.
Loftus-Cheek, 26, isn't guaranteed first-team action at Stamford Bridge, given the competition he has to deal with, and Everton need help after a poor first half of the season.
The England international may help that, while also boosting his hopes of making Gareth Southgate's 2022 World Cup squad later this year.
15.33 GMT: Speaking of replacements, Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Borussia Dortmund are lining up Sassuolo striker Gianluca Scamacca to take over from Erling Haaland.
Scamacca, 23, has nine goals in 23 games this season and could cost €45m if he moves next summer, having also closely been linked with Juventus before they signed Dusan Vlahovic.
Haaland will likely depart once his €75m release clause kicks in during 2022, with every top club in Europe linked with the 21-year-old Norway striker.
15.14 GMT: Bayern Munich are looking for a replacement for centre-back Niklas Sule and have made contract with Gladbach defender Matthias Ginter's representatives, says Bild.
Sule, 25, won't sign a new contract and will leave in the summer for nothing.
Bayern's first choices to take his place are Chelsea duo Andreas Christensen and Antonio Rudiger, both of whom are also available on a free transfer in the summer, but the 28-year-old Ginter may be a cheaper option in terms of overall wages once his own contract expires in 2022.
14.59 GMT: Tottenham have turned their attentions to Juventus winger Dejan Kulusevski after missing out on Wolves' Adama Traore and Porto's Luis Diaz, sources have told ESPN's James Olley.
Kulusevski, 21, could be available on loan and although AC Milan have expressed an interest, Juventus would prefer to send him to an overseas club.
Sources have told ESPN that Spurs have made contact over a possible deal following the collapse of moves for Traore (set to join Barcelona) and Diaz (Liverpool). It is unclear at this stage whether any deal would contain an option or obligation to sign Kulusevski permanently, but the Sweden international is under contract until 2025 and therefore Juve are in a strong position to negotiate.
14.42 GMT: San Antonio FC has agreed in principle to transfer attacker Jose Gallegos to Sonderjyske in the Danish first division, multiple sources confirmed to ESPN's Kyle Bonagura.
Gallegos, 20, scored seven goals in 30 appearances for San Antonio in the USL Championship in 2021, and has been viewed as one of the most promising prospects in the growing league.
A product of the San Antonio youth academy, Gallegos had a training stint with Bayern Munich last year and was on the radar of several European clubs. Terms of the transfer were not immediately known, but he is expected to be under contract with the Danish club through 2026.
An official announcement from the USL club is expected to come as early as Friday.
14.22 GMT: Derby County boss Wayne Rooney has said he turned down an opportunity from Premier League side Everton to interview for their vacant manager's position.
Everton have been without a manager since Rafa Benitez was sacked earlier this month after a disappointing six months in charge at Goodison Park.
Rooney, 36, began his career as a player at Everton and said on Friday his agent was contacted by his former club but he turned the approach down to focus on Derby.
"Everton approached my agent and asked me to interview for the job," Rooney said. "But I turned it down. I believe I will be a Premier League manager and I am ready for that 100%. But I have a job at Derby, which is important to me."
Derby sit 23rd in the Championship, eight points adrift of safety, after being deducted 21 points by the EFL: 12 points for entering administration, or proceedings to mitigate financial insolvency, and a further nine points in November for historical breaches of financial rules under former owner Mel Morris.
14.00 GMT: How did Liverpool decide to make a move for FC Porto's Luis Diaz?
13.24 GMT: Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is one of the players Barcelona are considering as a short-term solution to their goal-scoring problems, sources have confirmed to ESPN.
Arsenal are open to Aubameyang's departure in January after his relationship soured with coach Mikel Arteta if the majority of his wages are covered. Ideally, sources said, the club would also like to be able to sign a replacement.
In addition to Barca's interest, Juventus and Saudi Arabian side Al Nassr have also been linked with Aubameyang.
Barca coach Xavi Hernandez wants to add another forward to his squad before the transfer window closes on Monday, but any incomings will depend on winger Ousmane Dembele either signing a contract extension or moving elsewhere.
ESPN first revealed in December that Alvaro Morata, who is on loan at Juventus from Atletico Madrid, was the club's first-choice attacking target, but they've so far been unable to strike a deal for the Spain striker.
12.56 GMT: Paris Saint-Germain have made Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba their top summer target, according to L'Equipe.
Pogba, 28, looks set to leave Old Trafford on a free transfer in the summer and has attracted interest from Real Madrid, Barcelona, Juventus and PSG. The France international has not agreed terms to stay in England and wants a new challenge, with sources telling ESPN that United are prepared to lose him for nothing, despite spending £89.3m to sign him from Juventus in 2016.
The Ligue 1 giants are set to lose striker Kylian Mbappe to Real Madrid on a free transfer, so want him to replace him with another world-class star.
12.44 GMT: Aston Villa's €20m offer to sign Juventus midfielder Rodrigo Bentancur has been rejected, says Sky Italia.
Juventus would have to pay 30% to his former club Boca Juniors if they were to let him go, and the fee has not been deemed enough.
12.25 GMT: Valencia have signed RB Leipzig midfielder Ilaix Moriba on loan for the rest of the season.
A graduate of the Barcelona youth academy, the 19-year-old moved to Leipzig for €16m last summer but has played only six times this season.
The Guinea international is highly rated and will get a chance to shine back in LaLiga.
12.02 GMT: Defensa Central claims Real Madrid and Barcelona will go head-to-head over the signing of Chelsea defender Cesar Azpilicueta in the summer.
Azpilicueta, 32, has a contract which expires this summer and remains a regular under coach Thomas Tuchel after captaining the side to Champions League success last season.
However, he has yet to agree terms over a new deal and sources told ESPN that Barcelona are monitoring his situation back in November.
11.48 GMT: Former Chelsea and Arsenal star Willian has told ESPN he recently had a conversation with striker Diego Costa to try to convince him to reunite with him at Corinthians.
"No doubt. Diego is a great player, a great professional," he said. "We played together at Chelsea and we were very happy, we won titles together. Unfortunately, Corinthians couldn't reach an agreement with him.
"The only contact I had with him, I asked him what he was thinking of doing. He said he had some proposals from Europe as well. That he would analyze and then give an answer."
11.31 GMT: Arsenal has agreed to terms with the New England Revolution on the transfer of United States international goalkeeper Matt Turner, sources tell ESPN's Taylor Twellman.
A source with knowledge of the discussions told ESPN that the fee for Turner's transfer is $6m up front and could be as much as $10m with add-ons. The Revs also get 10% percentage if Turner moves on from Arsenal.
The upfront fee is lower than the $7.5m Manchester City paid for Zack Steffen's transfer from the Columbus Crew in 2019, a deal that also potentially reached $10m with add-ons.
Twellman added that Turner will join the Gunners in the summer, allowing him to remain with the Revs for the start of the 2022 MLS regular season. It will also keep travel to a minimum for Turner for the remainder of World Cup qualifying.
11.05 GMT: Bayern Munich goalkeeper Alexander Nubel could be set to join Tottenham, says Goal.
Nubel, 25, has made just four senior appearances behind Manuel Neuer for the German champions since arriving on a free transfer from Schalke in June 2020.
He is now on loan at Monaco, but Tottenham are keen to move for him, even though Hugo Lloris has the No. 1 spot wrapped up having just signed a new contract.
10.47 GMT: Manchester City winger Raheem Sterling is set to resume talks with the club over a new contract, sources have told ESPN's Rob Dawson.
No firm date has been set for negotiations to begin, but sources have told ESPN that City are keen to resolve the issue before Sterling enters the final year of his existing deal in June.
Sterling has a contract at the Etihad Stadium until 2023 and talks over an extension were halted while the 27-year-old made sure he was part of Pep Guardiola's long-term plans.
10.34 GMT: How good is Porto winger Luis Diaz?
10.21 GMT: Atletico MG are closely monitoring Argentina winger Cristian Pavon and hope to sign him as a free agent once his contract with Boca Juniors ends.
The Brazilian side recently saw Diego Costa depart and are in the market for a new forward.
Pavon, 26, is already allowed to sign a pre-contract agreement with another club as he has entered in the last six months of his contact with Boca.
10.03 GMT: Liverpool are attempting to beat Tottenham and Manchester United to the £37m signing of FC Porto winger Luis Diaz after abandoning plans to wait until the summer to sign the Colombia international, sources have told ESPN's Mark Ogden.
Diaz, who is in South America preparing for Friday's World Cup qualifier against Peru in Barranquilla, had been Jurgen Klopp's No. 1 target for the summer transfer window, with sources telling ESPN that Liverpool had been prepared to pay Porto's £50m valuation of the 25-year-old.
But with the Portuguese club now ready to offload the player before Monday's transfer deadline at a reduced fee of £37m plus an additional £12.5m in performance-related instalments, Spurs had appeared set to sign him after opening talks with Porto and Diaz this week.
09.43 GMT: Transfermarkt coordinator Christian Schwarz has revealed that Cristiano Ronaldo blocked them on Instagram because the Manchester United star was unhappy with the valuation the site had given him.
The Portugal international was given a €75m valuation in March 2020 when Transfermarkt made a starting XI of players represented by agent Jorge Mendes.
"He sent a message first to our social media guys. They answered him, explained why, and told him, 'The people in your age group, you are by far the number one.'" Schwarz told The Athletic. "It was €30m-€50m difference [between Ronaldo and the next player on the list], and then he sent some smilies, and then he blocked us."
09.26 GMT: Real Madrid are tracking Monaco's Aurelien Tchouameni and Ajax's Ryan Gravenberch, sources have told ESPN's Alex Kirkland and Rodrigo Faez, with the France international the leading candidate to refresh the team's veteran midfield.
Tchouameni, 22, has become one of Europe's most sought-after midfield prospects since becoming a first team regular at Monaco last season. He has made 21 appearances in Ligue 1 this campaign and has seven caps for France since making his full international debut last September.
The highly-rated Gravenberch, 19, is also already a full international with the Netherlands, featuring regularly during World Cup qualifying and appearing at last year's European Championships. He is due to be out of contract at Ajax in 2023 and is yet to agree to an extension.
Sources told ESPN that while Real Madrid are monitoring a number of young prospects, the pursuit of Tchouameni is "more serious." He is viewed as a suitable alternative to, and eventual replacement for, Casemiro in defensive midfield.
09.17 GMT: Aston Villa defender Matty Cash is in talks with Atletico Madrid over a summer move, says The Sun.
Cash, 24, is seen as a replacement for right-back Kieran Trippier, following his £12m move to Newcastle, and is rated at around £30m.
Villa have already signed Calum Chambers, who plays at both right-back and centre-back, from Arsenal this month.
09.00 GMT: Look who has arrived at Juventus ahead of his €75m move.

08.34 GMT: Arsenal face a race against time to sign a striker before Monday's transfer deadline after becoming repeatedly frustrated in attempts to bolster their forward line, sources have told ESPN's James Olley.
Arsenal were heavily linked with a move for Dusan Vlahovic but the Fiorentina forward is close to finalising a €75m deal to join Juventus.
Sources have told ESPN that senior figures at Arsenal believe their interest was used as a smokescreen by Vlahovic's camp to negotiate a transfer that provoked an angry reaction among Fiorentina fans the moment it became public given their longstanding rivalry with Juventus.
Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta ideally wants to strengthen in attack this month with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang ostracised after being stripped of the captaincy following a series of disciplinary issues, while Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah are both likely to leave the club when their contracts expire at the end of the season.
08.00 GMT: Inter Milan have completed the signing of Germany international Robin Gosens from Atalanta on a deal until 2026, the Italian champions announced on Thursday.
Gosens has signed a four-and-a-half-year contract in Milan and moves on loan with an obligation to sign him permanently. The 27-year-old becomes the Serie A leaders' first signing of the January transfer window and will compete with Ivan Perisic for the left wing-back spot in Simone Inzaghi's side.
Inter's statement did not mention a fee, but Sky Italia reported that the buyout clause is set at €25m plus €3m in bonuses.
Gosens played a key role at Atalanta achieving three consecutive third-place finishes in Serie A, and started every match for Germany at Euro 2020 last year. However, this season the left wing-back has been sidelined since September with a hamstring injury and is not expected to return for at least another month.

- Tottenham Hotspur have held talks with Serie A side Hellas Verona over midfielder Antonin Barak, reports journalist Nicolo Schira. - AS Roma are interested in a potential move for Paris Saint-Germain forward Mauro Icardi, reports Calciomercato. - Liverpool have turned down approaches from Leeds United and Monaco for forward Takumi Minamino, while Atalanta have registered interest in striker Divock Origi, says the Daily Mail. Minamino, 27, has been a squad player for the Reds since his arrival from FC Salzburg, with the report claiming a substantial offer would have to be made for them to let the Japan international leave. His Liverpool teammate Origi has also registered interest from Serie A side Atalanta, with the 26-year-old's contract expiring in the summer.
- Aston Villa full-back Ashley Young has turned down a potential move to Newcastle United, reports The Mirror. - Crystal Palace are looking to make the loan move for striker Jean-Philippe Mateta permanent, says The Sun. The 24-year-old is one-year into an 18-month loan spell at the Eagles from Bundesliga club Mainz, who have reportedly set a valuation of £14m for the forward.
