Galatasaray midfielder Felipe Melo has targeted a return to Serie A, saying he wants to move to Inter Milan.
Turkey's Hurryet newspaper quoted the former Fiorentina and Juventus player as saying he and his family were not happy in Istanbul and that he was desperate to play in Italy again.
"If I were able to go to Inter, that would be the best thing for me," Melo said. "My family's not happy in Turkey, and we don't want to stay here."
The 32-year-old said he had informed Gala coach Hamza Hamzaoglu of his desire to leave, but stressed: "For as long as I do stay, I will always give everything for this shirt."
The Brazilian midfielder has a year left to run on his contract with Galatasaray and has made 152 appearances for them, scoring 18 goals.
However, his hopes of moving to Inter appear slim, with the Italian club's coach Roberto Mancini having been told he must reduce his squad before being able to add to it.
Mancini is therefore looking to sell rather than buy, with Davide Santon and Xherdan Shaqiri most likely to leave, and Ivan Perisic of Wolfsburg a potential arrival.
Geoffrey Kondogbia, who arrived earlier this summer, said on Inter's Facebook page that he believed the club had the quality needed to win the title.

"We've just got to keep working and be focused for the whole season," he said.
"I'm very happy here, in nice surroundings and with a group of quality players. I like everything here and hope to integrate as quickly as possible."
