2008 Outlook: According to Sonya Christiansen, a biologist at the Massachusetts Division of Fish and Wildlife, the deer harvest last year increased about 10 percent.

The state sports a solid population of deer and, as a result of consistent regulations, the harvest should remain stable this year.

Christiansen did note that the weather always plays a role in harvest, but she did mention that a little snow on the ground helps as the season progresses, making it easier for hunters to track and follow deer movement.
