Wrestling: Vinesh Phogat confirmed an Olympics medal, storming into the final after beating Yusneylys Guzman Lopez in the 50kg semifinals.
Earlier she had stunned Japan's Yui Susaki to qualify for the quarters. It's a big shock as the Japanese wrestler was the reigning Olympic champion and four-time World Champion. She won gold at the Tokyo Games without conceding a single point. In the quarterfinals, she beat Oksana Livach of Ukraine.
Hockey: India lost 2-3 to Germany in the men's semifinal. They will now take on Spain for a bronze medal.
Athletics: Neeraj Chopra, India's gold medal hope and the reigning champion, has qualified for the javelin finals after registering a big 89.34m in his first throw.
Kishore Jena's best throw is 80.73m, he fails to make it to the finals. The qualification standard is 84m, all athletes meeting the mark will make it to the final or at least 12 best performers.
Table tennis: India men's team lose to China in round of 16.
