FRISCO, Texas -- Dallas Cowboys safety Malik Hooker will miss the next four games because of a toe injury after being placed on injured reserve Saturday.
Hooker suffered the injury in last week's tie against the Green Bay Packers. Initially there was fear he could have suffered a more serious injury that may have threatened his season.
With Hooker out, Juanyeh Thomas will start Sunday against the New York Jets; rookie Alijah Clark was called up from the practice squad.
Hooker has 22 tackles on the season and has started all but one game over the last three seasons.
With CeeDee Lamb (ankle) and KaVontae Turpin (foot) out Sunday, the Cowboys elevated receivers Jalen Brooks and Jalen Cropper from the practice squad.
The Cowboys will be without three starting offensive linemen Sunday in left tackle Tyler Guyton (concussion), center Cooper Beebe (foot) and right guard Tyler Booker (ankle). Left guard Tyler Smith (knee) is not assured of playing against the Jets either and is listed as questionable.
