FRISCO, Texas -- Dallas Cowboys center Cooper Beebe will miss six to eight weeks with a right ankle and foot injury suffered in Sunday's win against the New York Giants.
Beebe does not have a high ankle sprain but is dealing with a lateral sprain and a fracture of a small bone in that foot, according to a source.
Executive vice president Stephen Jones said on 105.3 The Fan in Dallas that the team is "hoping it's on the shorter end of that." Beebe was placed on injured reserve on Monday, which will cost him at least the next four games. Using the team's timeline, Beebe could return Nov. 3 against the Arizona Cardinals.
The Cowboys used the open roster spot to officially sign defensive end Jadeveon Clowney.
After the game, Beebe's ankle was visibly swollen, and he had more tests Monday that revealed the fracture.
Brock Hoffman played the final 16 snaps against the Giants after Beebe, who is in his second year, was hurt. Hoffman started six games last year at right guard, plus one at center when Beebe missed a game with a concussion. He also started one game at center in 2023.
"I definitely feel for Coop obviously getting hurt," Hoffman said. "You never want anybody to get hurt, but in terms of me, it's the same thing as kind of last year with those last seven games the year, stepped in for Zack [Martin]. I'm ready for whatever opportunity comes. I just always have a motto of stay ready so you don't have to get ready. That's what I'm here to do. I'm here to ball out and help this team keep getting wins."
Cowboys coach Brian Schottenheimer noted the important snaps Hoffman took against the Giants and believes he will be ready to go Sunday against the Chicago Bears.
"He gets underneath the defender's [skin], gets in their heads a little bit," Schottenheimer said. "But, yeah, his play style, it's he's wired the right way, man. And our guys love him. He's definitely one of the leaders in that room."
