Sep 14, 2025, 04:20 PM ETNEW ORLEANS -- The San Francisco 49ers defeated the New Orleans Saints 26-21 in a NFL Week 2 matchup on Sunday.
The 49ers (2-0) got three touchdown passes from backup quarterback Mac Jones, who was playing for an injured Brock Purdy. Spencer Rattler also threw three touchdown passes for the Saints (0-2), but ill-timed penalties and turnovers prevented New Orleans coach Kellen Moore from getting his first NFL victory.
