Source: Free agent Dre'Mont Jones, Titans reach 1-year deal

The Tennessee Titans and free agent defensive lineman Dre'Mont Jones have agreed to a one-year, $10 million deal, a source told ESPN's Adam Schefter on Wednesday.

Jones joins the Titans after a stint with the Seattle Seahawks, who signed him to a three-year, $51.53 million deal in 2023, but then released him earlier this month.

He didn't sit out a game in two seasons in Seattle, but with only 8.5 sacks and 12 tackles for loss in that span, he didn't have the impact that was expected.

After playing both defensive tackle and end in 2023, Jones, 28, dropped weight to play more of an outside linebacker role in Seahawks coach Mike Macdonald's defense last season. The team hoped Macdonald's penchant for moving around defenders up front would help unlock Jones, but he played predominantly on the edge and recorded four sacks while dealing with a shoulder injury for much of the season.

Jones was set to make $16.51 million in 2025, none of which was guaranteed.

Jones spent his first four seasons with the Denver Broncos, who selected him in the third round of the 2019 draft. He has 30.5 sacks and 63 quarterback hits in six seasons.

Jones is the latest of a series of one-year deals Titans general manager Mike Borgonzi has done to quickly fill holes in the roster. Defensive coordinator Dennard Wilson will use Jones in a rotation with Arden Key, Sebastian Joseph-Day and Jaylen Harrell at defensive end.

The Titans have been busy in free agency, this time landing a key defensive piece after agreeing to significant deals with two offensive linemen -- Kevin Zeitler and Dan Moore Jr.

ESPN's Turron Davenport and Brady Henderson contributed to this report.
