CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Mike Evans made a one-handed, spinning touchdown catch against the Carolina Panthers Sunday, giving the Bucs a 7-0 lead with 4:34 to go in the first quarter.
Working against cornerback Jaycee Horn, Evans, who was isolated to the left side of the formation with three tight ends on the right side, ran a 2-yard fade route to connect with quarterback Baker Mayfield for the score.
"I don't know how he caught that ball but he palmed it," Mayfield said. "I couldn't even look him in the eyes for the next five minutes after that."

It marks Evans' seventh touchdown catch this season and first score since missing three games with a hamstring injury.
It's his second one-handed touchdown catch since 2022, according to ESPN Research. The only other players with multiple one-handed touchdowns over that span are Courtland Sutton and Garrett Wilson, who each have three.
With his 101st career touchdown, Evans moved into ninth in NFL history for receiving touchdowns, surpassing Hall of Famers Tim Brown and Steve Largent.
