News: 4 days agoHiggins brought in one of three targets for 14 yards in the Texans' 20-3 preseason win over the Panthers on Saturday afternoon.

Spin: The rookie second-round pick was out there with the first-team offense and made his one reception on the Texans' second drive, which culminated in a Nico Collins touchdown reception. The timing of Higgins' participation in the game continues to suggest he's on a path to opening the regular season as the No. 3 receiver behind Nico Collins and Christian Kirk.

ESPN Fantasy Projection: Higgins was selected by Houston in the second round of April's draft. He is one of the biggest receivers in this class at 6-foot-4, 214 pounds with an 80-inch wingspan. He tested well athletically at the combine and his 2.86 career YPRR ranked third best in this WR class. He handled a big-time target share at Iowa State and was a machine at converting catches into first downs (class-best 74% rate). With Tank Dell a long shot to play in 2025, Higgins will compete with Christian Kirk, Justin Watson and fellow rookie Jaylin Noel for No. 2 duties opposite Nico Collins. Flex production is possible if he wins that gig, but a lot has to go right. He's best viewed as a late-round lottery ticket.
