News: 6 days agoSmith caught one of two targets for eight yards and rushed once for minus-10 yards in Sunday's 30-10 loss to the Bills.
Spin: Smith was the only Jets wide receiver other than Garrett Wilson to log a catch in the absence of Josh Reynolds (hamstring). It was the first catch of Smith's NFL career, as the rookie fourth-round pick was blanked in his regular-season debut against the Steelers in Week 1.
ESPN Fantasy Projection: Smith was selected by the Jets in the fourth round of April's draft. The Georgia product was limited to a class-low 5.5% of the targets during his 47 games with the Bulldogs. He dropped nine of his 76 targets last season, though his career 16.0 aDOT tops this class. Smith is a long shot for consistent fantasy value in the Jets' low-volume passing game, but he has a path to snaps with Allen Lazard and Josh Reynolds as his top competition behind Garrett Wilson.
