News: 2 days agoThe Packers placed Reed (collarbone/foot) on injured reserve Saturday.

Spin: Reed was already playing through a Jones fracture in his foot when he sustained a broken collarbone early during a Week 2 win against the Commanders. He's since undergone surgeries for both health concerns and is facing a 6-to-8 week recovery timetable, meaning a move to IR was inevitable for Reed. For at least the next two games, the Packers' receiving corps will be composed of Matthew Golden, Romeo Doubs, Dontayvion Wicks, Savion Williams and Malik Heath, while Christian Watson (knee) will be eligible for activation from the reserve/PUP list as soon as Week 6 following a Week 5 bye.

ESPN Fantasy Projection: Reed is entering his third NFL season, having produced at least 79 touches, 956 yards and seven TDs during each of his first two seasons in Green Bay. Despite the solid numbers, Reed has yet to emerge as a consistent fantasy producer. He came out hot with a pair of 27-plus-point games during Weeks 1-4 last season, but averaged 9.2 PPG the rest of the season, with zero 20-point efforts. Reed has struggled with drops (eight last season), but he's otherwise been productive (11.4 YPT last season ranked third at WR) and he's also a plus contributor as a rusher (282 yards and three TDs on 31 career carries). Perhaps Reed will make a Year 3 leap, but he's yet to deliver a top-25 fantasy season (PPG) after his 40th-place finish in 2024 and now has to compete with rookies Matthew Golden and Savion Williams for work. He has the look of a low-ceiling flex.
