My latest Big Board for the 2017 NFL draft is live, and so are my updated position rankings.
Important to note: This is a mix of seniors and underclassmen, but early on I separate the two so you see more senior players, who are certain to be in the draft. By "underclassmen," I mean players who technically could return to school for another season. Those are true juniors and third-year sophomores. I've denoted the third-year sophomores with asterisks.
Quarterbacks
Seniors
1. Chad Kelly, Mississippi
2. C.J. Beathard, Iowa
3. Mitch Leidner, Minnesota
4. Seth Russell, Baylor
5. Cooper Rush, Central Michigan
Underclassmen
1. Deshaun Watson, Clemson
2. Brad Kaaya, Miami (Fla.)
3. *DeShone Kizer, Notre Dame
4. Jerod Evans, Virginia Tech
5. Luke Falk, Washington State
Three new additions are Evans, Speight and Kizer. Evans, who is 6-foot-4, came from a junior college and is an intriguing prospect. He has 13 touchdown passes to just one interception. Speight has done a nice job managing the Michigan offense, and he has a big arm. Everyone knows about Kizer -- check out Todd McShay's Top 32 -- but I need to see some more tape before he moves up. (Note: After a week at No. 5, Kizer has moved up to No. 3, and that's where he'll be in the next edition of the Big Board. He really impressed me vs. Syracuse.)
Running backs
Seniors
1. Kareem Hunt, Toledo
2. Corey Clement, Wisconsin
3. Justin Davis, USC
4. Donnel Pumphrey, San Diego State
5. Brandon Radcliff, Louisville
Underclassmen
1. Leonard Fournette, LSU
2. Dalvin Cook, Florida State
3. Christian McCaffrey, Stanford
4. Royce Freeman, Oregon
5. Nick Chubb, Georgia
Radcliff has been a huge part of Louisville's tremendous big-play offense. He is averaging 9.3 yards per carry on his 46 rushes and has four total touchdowns. The underclassmen in this group are excellent.
Fullbacks
Seniors
1. Sam Rogers, Virginia Tech
2. Anthony Firkser, Harvard
3. Freddie Stevenson, Florida State
4. Jaymar Parrish, Pitt
5. Nate Iese, UCLA
Underclassmen
1. Daniel Marx, Stanford
2. Chris Herndon, Miami (Fla.)
3. Jaylen Samuels, N.C. State
4. Dimitri Flowers, Oklahoma
5. Khalid Hill, Michigan
Firkser has 11 catches for 189 yards and two touchdowns for the Crimson. He has the skill set to play H-back at the next level.
Wide receivers
Seniors
1. Jehu Chesson, Michigan
2. Corey Davis, Western Michigan
3. Amara Darboh, Michigan
4. Taywan Taylor, Western Kentucky
5. Cooper Kupp, Eastern Washington
Underclassmen
1. Mike Williams, Clemson
2. JuJu Smith-Schuster, USC
3. Isaiah Ford, Virginia Tech
4. Malachi Dupre, LSU
5. Curtis Samuel, Ohio State
With four touchdowns in four games, Darboh has almost equaled his touchdown total from last season (5). Ford is Jerod Evans' top wideout for the Hokies, with 24 catches in four games and averaging 15.7 yards per catch. He was stellar last season, too.
Tight ends
Seniors
1. Jake Butt, Michigan
2. O.J. Howard, Alabama
3. Jeremy Sprinkle, Arkansas
4. Evan Engram, Mississippi
5. Jordan Leggett, Clemson
Underclassmen
1. Bucky Hodges, Virginia Tech
2. Troy Fumagalli, Wisconsin
3. DeAndre Goolsby, Florida
4. Tyler Conklin, Central Michigan
5. Cam Serigne, Wake Forest
Conklin, a 6-4 junior, is the new guy on this list. He has a combined 13 catches and two touchdowns in games against Oklahoma State and Virginia.
Offensive tackles
Seniors
1. Adam Bisnowaty, Pitt
2. Chad Wheeler, USC
3. Conor McDermott, UCLA
4. Erik Magnuson, Michigan
5. Avery Gennesy, Texas A&M
Underclassmen
1. Cam Robinson, Alabama
2. Mike McGlinchey, Notre Dame
3. Roderick Johnson, Florida State
4. *Orlando Brown, Oklahoma
5. Casey Tucker, Stanford
Magnuson has a bunch of starts on the Michigan offensive line, which has improved greatly. Tucker is in his second season as a starter for the Cardinal. Both have the size to play tackle in the NFL.
Offensive guards
Seniors
1. Dan Feeney, Indiana
2. Forrest Lamp, Western Kentucky
3. Dorian Johnson, Pitt
4. Greg Pyke, Georgia
5. Caleb Peterson, North Carolina
Underclassmen
1. *Quenton Nelson, Notre Dame
2. Damien Mama, USC
3. Tyrone Crowder, Clemson
4. Brian Allen, Michigan State
5. Billy Price, Ohio State
I like what I've seen on tape from Lamp, a 6-4, 300-pounder who is a four-year starter for the Hilltoppers.
Centers
Seniors
1. Ethan Pocic, LSU
2. Pat Elflein, Ohio State
3. Jon Toth, Kentucky
4. Tyler Orlosky, West Virginia
5. Cameron Tom, So. Mississippi
Underclassmen
1. Mason Cole, Michigan
2. Nick Linder, Miami (Fla.)
3. Frank Ragnow, Arkansas
4. Bradley Bozeman, Alabama
5. Austin Schlottmann, TCU
Not many changes here. I need to see more tape of Bozeman, who is a first-year starter.
Defensive ends
Seniors
1. Jonathan Allen, Alabama
2. Dawuane Smoot, Illinois
3. DeMarcus Walker, Florida State
4. Isaac Rochell, Notre Dame
5. Deatrich Wise Jr., Arkansas
Underclassmen
1. Myles Garrett, Texas A&M
2. Charles Harris, Missouri
3. Derek Barnett, Tennessee
4. Carl Lawson, Auburn
5. *Solomon Thomas, Stanford
Thomas had a huge game against UCLA, with a sack, multiple play disruptions and a fumble-return touchdown. He's in the middle of a breakout year.
Defensive tackles
Seniors
1. Carlos Watkins, Clemson
2. Chris Wormley, Michigan
3. Larry Ogunjobi, Charlotte
4. Ryan Glasgow, Michigan
5. Dalvin Tomlinson, Alabama
Underclassmen
1. Malik McDowell, Michigan State
2. Caleb Brantley, Florida
3. Charles Walker, Oklahoma
4. Nazair Jones, North Carolina
5. Lowell Lotulelei, Utah
Ogunjobi is an intriguing prospect with a ton of experience for Charlotte. He's involved in everything the 49ers do defensively.
Inside linebackers
Seniors
1. Reuben Foster, Alabama
2. Kendell Beckwith, LSU
3. Keith Kelsey, Louisville
4. Ben Gedeon, Michigan
5. Nick DeLuca, North Dakota State
Underclassmen
1. Raekwon McMillan, Ohio State
2. Zach Cunningham, Vanderbilt
3. Shaun Dion Hamilton, Alabama
4. Anthony Walker, Northwestern
5. Jack Cichy, Wisconsin
You already know about Foster, who keeps rising up my Big Board. Hamilton doesn't have the experience or sideline-to-sideline ability of Foster, but he's solid.
Outside linebackers
Seniors
1. Tim Williams, Alabama
2. Jarrad Davis, Florida
3. Jalen Reeves-Maybin, Tennessee
4. Vince Biegel, Wisconsin
5. Ryan Anderson, Alabama
Underclassmen
1. T.J. Watt, Wisconsin
2. Marquis Haynes, Mississippi
3. Mike McCray, Michigan
4. Elijah Lee, Kansas State
5. Peter Kalambayi, Stanford
Wisconsin just keeps pumping out linebackers, and Watt and Biegel are the next in line. Both are tackle-for-loss machines.
Cornerbacks
Seniors
1. Cordrea Tankersley, Clemson
2. Tre'Davious White, LSU
3. Desmond King, Iowa
4. Jourdan Lewis, Michigan
5. Damontae Kazee, San Diego State
Underclassmen
1. *Marlon Humphrey, Alabama
2. Teez Tabor, Florida
3. Sidney Jones, Washington
4. Gareon Conley, Ohio State
5. Howard Wilson, Houston
I like what I've seen this season out of Wilson, who already has three interceptions. A torn ACL ended his 2015 season early.
Safeties
Seniors
1. Marcus Maye, Florida
2. Chidobe Awuzie, Colorado
3. Orion Stewart, Baylor
4. Josh Harvey-Clemons, Louisville
5. Eddie Jackson, Alabama
Underclassmen
1. *Jabrill Peppers, Michigan
2. Jamal Adams, LSU
3. Marcus Williams, Utah
4. Dominick Sanders, Georgia
5. Budda Baker, Washington
The only new addition here is Stewart, who has been all over the field for the Bears. He has three interceptions and more than 20 tackles.
Kickers
Seniors
1. Jake Elliott, Memphis
2. Conrad Ukropina, Stanford
3. Zane Gonzalez, Arizona State
4. Bobby Puyol, Connecticut
5. Andy Phillips, Utah
Underclassmen
1. Daniel Carlson, Auburn
2. Drew Brown, Nebraska
3. Michael Badgley, Miami (Fla.)
4. Matt Anderson, California
5. Matthew McCrane, Kansas State
Gonzalez's only missed field goal was from 50-plus yards away.
Punters
Seniors
1. Justin Vogel, Miami (Fla.)
2. Toby Baker, Arkansas
3. Hayden Hunt, Colorado State
4. Rigoberto Sanchez, Hawaii
5. Cameron Johnston, Ohio State
Underclassmen
1. JK Scott, Alabama
2. Johnny Townsend, Florida
3. Trevor Daniel, Tennessee
4. Joe Davidson, Bowling Green
5. Spencer Smith, Memphis
Baker, a former walk-on, is averaging 46.1 yards per punt.
