Francis Ngannou meets Renan Ferreira in a clash of heavyweight champions that headlines PFL Super Fights: Battle of the Giants on Saturday in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
The event at The Mayadeen also features another superfight between champions, as reigning Bellator women's featherweight titlist Cris Cyborg faces two-season PFL champ Larissa Pacheco. In addition, there is a Bellator middleweight title bout between undefeated champion Johnny Eblen and Fabian Edwards, a rematch of a bout from last year that Eblen won by knockout.
The main card is on ESPN+ pay-per-view at 4 p.m. ET, with prelims on ESPN+ at 1:30 p.m.
Ngannou (17-3) was UFC heavyweight champion when he left that promotion in late 2021 to pursue a pro boxing career. He signed with the PFL in May 2023 but kept his focus on boxing, challenging lineal heavyweight champion Tyson Fury that October and knocking down Fury before losing a split decision. Ngannou returned to the boxing ring this past March and was knocked out by Anthony Joshua in two rounds. Now he is back in MMA.
Ferreira (13-3, 3 NC) won the 2023 PFL heavyweight season last November with a second-round TKO of Denis Goltsov, then knocked out Bellator champion Ryan Bader in 21 seconds in February. He is No. 6 in the ESPN heavyweight rankings (Ngannou is ineligible because of inactivity).
