This story appears in the Dec. 14 issue of ESPN The Magazine.

Xavier guard Jordan Crawford's dunk on LeBron became national news when Nike confiscated the video. Big mistake, says Crawford.

It's not like the guys playing knew each other well, so we didn't really defend ball screens. Jordan recognized that, jumped off a screen and made a good play. Everybody gets dunked on at some point.

-- Cavs rookie Danny Green

"I didn't think it was that big of a deal; dunks happen all the time in pickup games. When I went up, I was just going for a bucket -- it wasn't, 'Oh, look, there's LeBron.' But once I realized it was him, I was geeked. I was playing against pros and other college players, so I didn't want to act out on the court. But I did call my Xavier teammate Mark Lyons, who was in history class at the time. And then I called my brother, Joe, who played for the Knicks. What Nike did, though, taking away the tapes, that's what made it such a big deal."
