Fantasy football flex rankings for Week 4

Robin Alam/Icon Sportswire

Editor's note: These have been adjusted to take Steelers and Titans players out, following their game being postponed.

The quarterbacks might be making most of the fantasy football headlines, but the flex-eligible set is the focus for this weekly blog entry. Welcome to Week 4 and the latest flex rankings, as we combine the best -- and nearly all -- of the top running backs, wide receivers and tight ends into one handy list for your viewing and debating pleasure. Follow the news, because values could change later in the week, and good luck!

1. Alvin Kamara, RB, Saints: Hard to believe he can sustain this passing-game volume when a certain Saints wide receiver returns to health, but he is this year's Christian McCaffrey.
2. Ezekiel Elliott, RB, Cowboys: Elliott had 12 targets in Week 3. Can easily argue he should lead this list every week.
3. Dalvin Cook, RB, Vikings: No problems finding the end zone the first fortnight, but then he did it all in Week 3.
4. Aaron Jones, RB, Packers
5. Austin Ekeler, RB, Chargers
6. DeAndre Hopkins, WR, Cardinals: It is early, but he has never averaged this many PPR points per game for a full season.
7. Josh Jacobs, RB, Raiders
8. Clyde Edwards-Helaire, RB, Chiefs: Saw a beautiful 25 touches on Monday night. Volume is key because the yards and the scores, they will come.
9. Miles Sanders, RB, Eagles: If he were to get hurt, the Eagles might never score. Have to assume huge volume pending.
10. Davante Adams, WR, Packers: Hamstring injury cost him Week 3, and unless we have full clarity he is cleared for Monday, choose another option on Sunday morning.
11. Calvin Ridley, WR, Falcons: Have to assume his production is legit no matter who else plays for this offense.
12. Michael Thomas, WR, Saints: Says he might play in Week 4, but make sure first. Have to trust the numbers will be there.
13. Joe Mixon, RB, Bengals
14. Nick Chubb, RB, Browns
15. Chris Carson, RB, Seahawks: Cheap shot could cost him this week, but Seahawks are optimistic. Still seeing ample volume.
16. Tyler Lockett, WR, Seahawks: As long as Russell Wilson keeps flashing MVP numbers, each of his top receivers will thrive.
17. DK Metcalf, WR, Seahawks
18. Jonathan Taylor, RB, Colts: Disappointing outing versus the Jets, but still looks like a safe RB2.
19. James Robinson, RB, Jaguars
20. Kareem Hunt, RB, Browns: This is a running team now, with Hunt and Chubb on pace for 1,000 rushing yards each.
21. Adam Thielen, WR, Vikings
22. Allen Robinson II, WR, Bears: No, it does not matter who quarterbacks this offense for Robinson's purposes.
23. Tyreek Hill, WR, Chiefs
24. Travis Kelce, TE, Chiefs
25. Julio Jones, WR, Falcons: Not a bad time to buy low, but also no guarantees he plays this week or gets his usual target share.
26. Mike Davis, RB, Panthers: Saw 21 touches, which is not quite McCaffrey-like, but a great sign.
27. Kenyan Drake, RB, Cardinals: Five targets all season and has yet to reach double-digit receiving yards in a game. And he is not Derrick Henry rushing the football, either.
28. Stefon Diggs, WR, Bills
29. Mike Evans, WR, Buccaneers: Very odd line so far, with two receiving yards in two of the games, 104 yards in the other and touchdowns in all three.
30. Keenan Allen, WR, Chargers
31. Amari Cooper, WR, Cowboys
32. Kenny Golladay, WR, Lions: Looked fine in his season debut on Sunday. Do not downgrade him.
33. Darrell Henderson Jr., RB, Rams: With 195 rushing yards and a touchdown the past two games, he sure looks like the starter, and this was reflected in the rest-of-season rankings. Cam Akers might have to wait.
34. David Montgomery, RB, Bears: Perhaps it is presumptive that he gets the volume and does something great with it, but it's time to believe.
35. Melvin Gordon III, RB, Broncos
36. Devin Singletary, RB, Bills: Still averaging 4.9 yards per rush, but it sure doesn't feel like it.
37. George Kittle, TE, 49ers: Has to be itching to return to face Philly's lack of linebackers, but hard to believe he is 100% healthy.
38. DJ Moore, WR, Panthers
39. Terry McLaurin, WR, Washington: Perhaps Washington has its quarterback of the future, perhaps not, but it has a star WR and must get him more involved.
40. Tyler Boyd, WR, Bengals
41. Robert Woods, WR, Rams
42. Cooper Kupp, WR, Rams
43. DeVante Parker, WR, Dolphins: More targets would be nice, and deeper down the field, but it does seem like a rather safe statistical floor.
44. Julian Edelman, WR, Patriots: You couldn't have expected 179 receiving yards each week, but this is the Patriots' way, making defenses guess.
45. Raheem Mostert, RB, 49ers: Seems like he should miss another week or two, and the 49ers have depth here.
46. Darren Waller, TE, Raiders
47. Mark Andrews, TE, Ravens: Dropped a touchdown Monday, but still, nine catches in three games is not good enough. Have to assume Ravens want him more involved soon.
48. David Johnson, RB, Texans: I am not the one to ask if you seek answers to his struggles. Is he struggling or is this his baseline?
49. Todd Gurley II, RB, Falcons
50. Myles Gaskin, RB, Dolphins
51. Robby Anderson, WR, Panthers: Did not see him emerging as a 100-catch or 1,000-yard option, but a lot of this looks legit.
52. Darius Slayton, WR, Giants
53. Odell Beckham Jr., WR, Browns: He really misses Eli Manning. Think about that for a minute.
54. Antonio Gibson, RB, Washington
55. Ronald Jones II, RB, Buccaneers: This time-share with the next fellow probably lasts all season. Sigh. This week, go with Jones. Or not.
56. Leonard Fournette, RB, Buccaneers
57. Joshua Kelley, RB, Chargers
58. Marquise Brown, WR, Ravens: Could use some big plays this week or people will move on. Probably the wrong move, but only probably.
59. John Brown, WR, Bills
60. Russell Gage, WR, Falcons
61. Michael Gallup, WR, Cowboys: As with the Tampa running backs, picking the No. 2 Dallas WR each week seems problematic.
62. DJ Chark Jr., WR, Jaguars: People are moving on but Chark is really good, when he plays. Have some faith here.
63. James White, RB, Patriots
64. Mark Ingram II, RB, Ravens: Yet another Raven not really producing as expected. In this case, the team could go to the rookie and faze out Ingram. But not yet.
65. Nyheim Hines, RB, Colts
66. D'Andre Swift, RB, Lions: Please give this young fellow 15 touches per game and watch him thrive. Then give him more touches.
67. Marvin Jones Jr., WR, Lions: Golladay's return might have affected his targets, but that was not a problem last season. Time to invest.
68. Mike Gesicki, TE, Dolphins.
69. A.J. Green, WR, Bengals
70. Will Fuller V, WR, Texans: It's not that he appears healthy enough to play on a Wednesday, but rather that there always seems to be something awry during a game.
71. CeeDee Lamb, WR, Cowboys
72. Justin Jefferson, WR, Vikings: Rookie is a popular pickup after a great Week 3, but don't expect any rookie receivers to be consistent.
73. Curtis Samuel, WR, Panthers
74. T.Y. Hilton, WR, Colts: Little production here so far and a tough Week 4 matchup, too. I would keep him rostered, though.
75. Hunter Henry, TE, Chargers
76. Zach Ertz, TE, Eagles: Loss of teammate Dallas Goedert should help targets and catches, but 5.4 yards per target is terrible. Does that change, too?
77. Rex Burkhead, RB, Patriots: Return of James White should alter his touches. Better option in real life.
78. Latavius Murray, RB, Saints
79. Frank Gore, RB, Jets: And now, it's the portion of the column when we have to deal with the New Jersey offenses and their running backs. Do not rely on the New Jersey running backs.
80. Devonta Freeman, RB, Giants
81. Zack Moss, RB, Bills: Singletary has been fine, certainly more productive than Moss, and at some point soon we might just stop ranking the rookie.
82. Brandin Cooks, WR, Texans
83. N'Keal Harry, WR, Patriots
84. Adrian Peterson, RB, Lions: It is possible to marvel at his production at his age and still ignore him in fantasy.
85. Sony Michel, RB, Patriots: Pending return of Damien Harris could complicate things at any point, but good luck guessing what Belichick will do anyway.
86. Jerick McKinnon, RB, 49ers
87. KJ Hamler, WR, Broncos: Perhaps the debut of Brett Rypien is all this offense needs!
88. Jerry Jeudy, WR, Broncos
89. Jamison Crowder, WR, Jets
90. Allen Lazard, WR, Packers: Feels like the type of receiver that will do little when you play him, and produce big when you do not.
91. J.K. Dobbins, RB, Ravens: I literally did write about every Ravens player. Dobbins should be great, but only if they let him. Might be last time on this list for a while. Or he is an RB2.
92. Chase Edmonds, RB, Cardinals
93. Mike Williams, WR, Chargers
94. Hunter Renfrow, WR, Raiders
95. Jarvis Landry, WR, Browns
96. Tee Higgins, WR, Bengals
97. Noah Fant, TE, Broncos
98. Carlos Hyde, RB, Seahawks
99. Malcolm Brown, RB, Rams
100. Greg Ward, Eagles

Others: Preston Williams, Dolphins; J.D. McKissic, RB, Washington; Jamaal Williams, RB, Packers; Giovani Bernard, RB, Bengals; Cordarrelle Patterson, RB, Bears
