What you need to know for Saturday's games

What Saturday's slate lacks in volume, it makes up for in intriguing matchups. There are five games on the schedule today, headlined by tonight's marquee matchup between the Los Angeles Lakers and Milwaukee Bucks. Luka Doncic versus Giannis Antetokounmpo. JJ Redick against Doc Rivers. Narratives abound in this matchup, all while the betting metrics suggest a competitive and high-scoring game.

With just 10 teams in action, identifying valuable streaming candidates becomes pivotal. Check the streaming section below for a nomination from this contest. Saturday is also notable given the likely season debut of Zach Edey for the Memphis Grizzlies in today's game against the Cleveland Cavaliers. Edey, rostered in just 20% of ESPN leagues, will likely take time to become a valuable fantasy option. Stashing Edey could be a profitable play given his potential to serve as a post-up and rim-protection hub for Memphis. The total in this matchup is the highest of the day.

Finding paths to the depth from these rosters could be rewarding for those in weekly leagues. A matchup of Western contenders features the Denver Nuggets visiting the Minnesota Timberwolves. Denver enters with a lengthy injury report in a game that will test the team's newfound depth. With an eye on identifying rewarding streaming candidates and savvy betting angles, let's take a look at Saturday's series of matchups.

Saturday's fantasy stream team

Kyle Kuzma, PF/SF, Milwaukee Bucks (rostered in 29.4% of ESPN leagues): The Bucks haven't gotten the best from Kuzma on a consistent basis, but he is flashing a fun ceiling in recent outings. With at least 26 points in two of his past three games and with the team's need for him to help as a complementary scorer in a game with a total north of 230 points, the upside is worthy of the risks associated with Kuzma's volatility.

De'Andre Hunter, SF/PF, Cleveland Cavaliers (49.4%): A strong start to the season has Hunter positioned as an important three-level scorer for a Cleveland team with title hopes. The Cavs face a decimated Memphis rotation. Hunter's size could be a major boon against a patchworked Memphis group at the wing.

Moussa Diabate, C, Charlotte Hornets (18.5%): Hovering around a double-double average over the past week, Diabate has been the primary paint protector for Charlotte in recent games. The scoring is more of a byproduct of his rebounding and deep positioning, while steals and swats help fill out a helpful profile. In that same game, the Thunder's Isaiah Joe (9.8%) surfaces as a fun source of scoring and shooting in place of Aaron Wiggins.

Bruce Brown, SG/SF, Denver Nuggets (1.1%): With Christian Braun and Cameron Johnson sidelined for tonight's game in Minnesota, Brown could put together a helpful fantasy line as a two-way glue guy for Denver. Don't anticipate a big scoring role, but if Brown flirts with 30 minutes, a solid box score can follow.

McCormick's bets for Saturday

Donte DiVincenzo over 17.5 points and assists (-120)

This is your starting lead creator for the Minnesota Timberwolves. Is he a pure point guard? Of course not, but the "Big Ragu" is empowered as a passer and scorer to the degree that he's a solid target for offensive optimism. The Nuggets are without a few key perimeter defenders, while DiVincenzo isn't being pushed by other guards in his own rotation.

Memphis Grizzlies vs. Cleveland Cavaliers under 238.5 total points (-110)

While this game has the ingredients for scoring; two pace-driven offenses with lead guards capable of massive scoring outbursts, it also has a long injury list for both teams. The Grizzlies are introducing Edey, most likely, while also dealing with a wave of impact injuries, including the absence of star rookie Cedric Coward. It reads like Memphis could struggle to keep up the scoring required to make this game competitive.

Pascal Siakam over 5.5 rebounds (-200)

Adjusting this to 6.5 rebounds even feels suitable given Siakam leads the team with 12 rebounding chances per game on the season. This is a knowingly small and fast Pacers team. The narrative angle is also at least fun to consider, with Siakam hosting his former team. The real key is Toronto has gobs of wings and a solid center, but no real intermediate defenders or rebounders to corral Siakam in this one.
