What you need to know for Tuesday's games
Tuesday's six-game NBA slate features a marquee matchup between two of the East's early surprises, as the 5-1 Philadelphia 76ers visit the 5-1 Chicago Bulls at the United Center.
Philadelphia is coming off a dominant 129-105 win over the Brooklyn Nets, led by Kelly Oubre Jr.'s 29 points and Tyrese Maxey's all-around brilliance.
The Bulls, meanwhile, look to bounce back after suffering their first loss of the season to the Knicks despite Josh Giddey's triple-double. With both teams atop the Eastern Conference and key players heating up, this clash offers plenty of intrigue for bettors and fantasy managers alike.
Let's break down the action and find some fantasy streamers and betting angles to make the most of tonight's slate.
Tuesday's fantasy stream team
Nickeil Alexander-Walker, SG, Atlanta Hawks (rostered in 42.0% of ESPN leagues)
Alexander-Walker has been excellent over his past four games, scoring at least 34 fantasy points in three of them. He's currently starting for the Hawks with Trae Young sidelined, and his role in the rotation is undeniable, making him a valuable short-term addition to fantasy lineups. Alexander-Walker primarily contributes points but also chips in across multiple statistical categories.
Wendell Carter Jr., C, Orlando Magic (16.9%)
Carter is a solid option for managers in need of a center. He has played at least 27 minutes and scored 28 or more fantasy points in three of his past four games. Carter primarily contributes points and rebounds but has also hit two or more 3-pointers in three straight games.
Kevin Huerter, SG,SF, Chicago Bulls (11.6%)
Huerter has delivered as the Bulls' sixth man with Coby White out. He's averaging 24.8 minutes and 28.5 fantasy points per game. The matchup between the Bulls and 76ers features the highest point total on the slate, so there should be plenty of fantasy production to go around, positioning Huerter as an excellent streaming option.
Moussa Diabate, PF/C, Charlotte Hornets (8.6%)
Diabate has been a reliable source of points and rebounds despite coming off the bench. He has played at least 19 minutes and scored 22 or more fantasy points in three straight games, including one with 38. The Pelicans rank in the top 10 in fantasy points per game allowed to centers, which makes Diabate a strong streaming option.
Moody's favorite bets for Tuesday
Joel Embiid Over 19.5 points (-120)
Even though Embiid has been on a minutes restriction, he has cleared this line in three of his past four games. He has been aggressive when on the floor, averaging 12.5 field goal attempts per game. His minutes have been trending upward, and he has consistently shown the ability to score in bunches throughout his career. Embiid has hit this mark in 15 of his past 20 games, averaging 28.6 minutes during that span. The matchup is favorable as Nikola Vucevic is unlikely to slow him down, and the Bulls have allowed the most points in the paint this season. With three days of rest, the over looks very appealing here.
Orlando Magic at Atlanta Hawks Under 228.5 (-110)
Both teams rank in the top half of the league in defensive rating and the bottom half in offensive rating. The total has gone under in four of the past six games for both the Magic and the Hawks. Atlanta remains without Young, which slows the tempo and limits their scoring upside, while Orlando has held opponents under 107 points in back-to-back games. With both sides emphasizing defense and rebounding, this matchup projects as a grind-it-out battle that stays below 228.5.
Miles Bridges Over 20.5 points (-110)
Bridges has been one of the Hornets' primary offensive focal points with Brandon Miller out to start the season, and with LaMelo Ball questionable for Tuesday night's game, Bridges could see an even higher usage rate. He has cleared this line in three of his past five games while averaging 33.2 MPG and 16.2 FGA per game. The Pelicans also rank near the bottom of the league in defensive rating, further boosting his scoring outlook.
