The League of Legends Championship Series announced Friday that Team Liquid AD carry Edward "Tactical" Ra has been named LCS Rookie of the Year and also revealed the top five finalists for LCS summer split MVP.

TSM mid laner Søren "Bjergsen" Bjerg, Cloud9 jungler Robert "Blaber" Huang, Golden Guardians jungler Can "Closer" Çelik, Team Liquid support Jo "CoreJJ" Yong-in and TL mid laner Nicolaj "Jensen" Jensen round out the five remaining candidates for LCS summer split regular season MVP.

Tactical, meanwhile, finished the split with a 7.1 KDA (kills/deaths/assists) ratio in summer, finishing third in the LCS among AD carries. He led LCS bot laners in average share of his team's total damage to opposing champions with 31.7%.

A Riot spokesperson told ESPN that the name of the award was changed to rookie of the year this season because only one rookie played in the LCS in spring split. This way, the LCS could account for all rookies that played in the league in both spring and summer.

Team Liquid have already qualified for the League of Legends World Championship and will face FlyQuest in the LCS playoffs on Sunday. The winner of that matchup will progress to the grand finals.
