The League of Legends Championship Series summer finals are coming to the Motor City.
The LCS summer finals are set for Aug. 24 and 25 at Little Caesars Arena in Detroit, it was announced Friday. Event organizers are expecting more than 15,000 fans to attend.
Rocket Mortgage by Quicken Loans will be the presenting sponsor of the event.
"We're proud to partner with Rocket Mortgage as they become the first-ever presenting sponsor of the LCS Summer Finals," said Chris "Chopper" Hopper, Head of Esports for North America at Riot Games in a statement. "We always strive to bring League of Legends to new locations around the region and are excited to offer one of the top esports events in North America to the passionate fans in Detroit for the first time."
The winning team at the Detroit event will earn $100,000 and qualify for the world championships in Europe later this year.
In the LCS spring finals in April in St. Louis, Team Liquid won the title, defeating Team SoloMid.
