UPDATE (Jan. 3, 2017): Since the time of publication, Maxlore and Phaxi have been confirmed.
European League of Legends Championship Series Team ROCCAT has signed former Giants Gaming jungler Nubar "Maxlore" Sarafian and Slovenian rookie top laner Ambrož "Phaxi" Hren, sources close to the team and the players tell ESPN.
Maxlore was ROCCAT's first offseason signing following his departure from Giants Gaming on Nov. 21 when he posted that he was a free agent on his Twitter. Maxlore will replace former ROCCAT jungler Jonas "Memento" Elmarghichi, who was on loan to the team from Challenger Series squad Nerv.
The decision to sign Phaxi comes after the team attempted to speak with top laners abroad, but decided against that notion. Phaxi will replace former ROCCAT top laner Lee "Parang" Sang-won, who parted ways privately with the team during the offseason, according to sources.
Phaxi and Maxlore join Felix "Betsy" Edling, the only current remaining member of Team ROCCAT. During the offseason, the team has parted ways with Parang, Memento, former AD carry Pierre "Steeelback" Medjaldi and former support Oh "Raise" Ji-hwan. The team will now look to fill its AD carry and support positions heading into next season.
Team ROCCAT placed last (10th) in the 2016 EU LCS summer regular season but eluded relegation by defeating Millenium and Schalke 04 in the spring 2017 promotion tournament.
Team ROCCAT declined to comment on this report.
