After losing three-fifths of its League Championship Series roster during the offseason, sources close to the Unicorns of Love say it is close to filling the gaps in its lineup with former Gravity jungler Kang "Move" Min-su, former Mysterious Monkeys and Ninjas in Pyjamas mid laner Fabian "Exileh" Schubert, and former Vortex AD carry Kim "Veritas" Kyoung-min.

Remaining with the roster will be top laner Kiss "Vizicsacsi" Tamás and support Zdravets "Hylissang" Iliev Galabov. Both players have competed with multiple renditions of the Unicorns since its qualification in August of 2014.

The three new members to the team will replace former members jungler Jean-Victor "loulex" Burgevin, mid laner Hampus "Fox" Myhre, and AD carry Pierre "Steeelback" Medjaldi. The former recently parted ways with the team without any plan lined up, while Fox and Steeelback found new homes on newest European LCS team Schalke 04, owned by the German soccer club of the same name, and Team ROCCAT, respectively.

For its mid lane, the team negotiated with a handful of mid laners, but contracted Exileh after trying out both him and former Giants Gaming mid laner Isaac "xPePii" Flores. UoL ultimately chose Exileh after failing to come to terms with xPePii and dropping that deal. Prior to signing on with Unicorns, Exileh competed with Challenger squad Mysterious Monkeys and Ninjas in Pyjamas as a temporary substitute throughout 2014 and 2015.

Both Move and Veritas have been inactive since Summer 2015, after parting ways with Gravity Gaming, following the $1 million sale to former Los Angeles Lakers and Boston Celtics basketball professional Rick Fox, and Vortex respectively. Echo Fox decided not to keep any of the Gravity players, leaving Move empty-handed last offseason. Several weeks ago, he posted to his Twitter for the first time in months saying he would like to return to competitive and find a new team, which he has now done with Unicorns of Love.

Veritas left Vortex after it disbanded due to internal issues and a terrible showing in the North American Challenger Series. But despite being inactive for almost nine months, this will be the third region Veritas has competed in. Although he is originally from Korea, Veritas first made his name in the Oceanic region with Avant Garde, before moving to North America to compete with Final Five (later rebranded to Vortex.) His wide range of competitive experience may benefit the team.
