The City of Austin, Texas, has canceled SXSW, which was planned for March 13-22, conference organizers announced Friday. It is the first time the event will not take place in its 34-year history. "The situation evolved rapidly," organizers said. "We honor and respect the City of Austin's decision." SXSW would have featured the eMLS Cup, a gaming expo and award show this year.
