In a single bound, the new chip leader of the WSOP main event found a straight flush and Superman, his kryptonite. On a Kh-5d-3s flop, Jonathan Dwek, who spent most of this tournament dressed as the Man of Steel, bet 800,000 with As-8c and Christian Pham called with Ad-3d. Dwek led again, for 1.4 million on the 2d turn, and Pham called again. On the 4d river, Dwek led out for 2 million and Pham instantaneously shoved, having Dwek well-covered. After about 30 seconds, Dwek called with a straight and got the bad news as Pham triumphantly shouted, "Straight flush." While Dwek was sent up, up and away in 38th place, Pham chipped up to 25.8 million and shot straight to the top.
