It's conference championship weekend in college football, as the nine conferences will crown their champion, and many of these games carry College Football Playoff implications.
The top two seeds in the country, No. 2 Indiana and No. 1 Ohio State, square off in the Big Ten Championship game, with the winner nearly assured of starting the postseason as the No. 1 overall seed.
In the SEC, Georgia and Alabama will lock horns in Atlanta on Saturday, which is where ESPN College Gameday will start the day.
Playoff implications are high in the final game of the weekend, the ACC Championship game, as 5-7 unranked Duke will take on Virginia with the conference championship on the line. 10-2 Virginia defeated the Blue Devils just two weeks ago. Meanwhile, 10-2 Miami did not qualify for the ACC Championship due to conference tiebreakers, despite being ranked higher than both competitors.
The five highest-ranked conference champions will make the playoff, regardless of whether they are in the Top 25 rankings. The "Group of 5" teams in contention for a playoff spot include the American conference champion -- either North Texas or Tulane -- as well as James Madison, 11-1 and favored in the Sun Belt championship.
Rankings will update Tuesday night, after the release of the College Football Playoff rankings on ESPN.
