Scottie Scheffler is halfway to a career Grand Slam, with two Masters titles and a PGA Championship to his name. As we head into the Open Championship, Scheffler is the betting favorite on the golf futures market for all four upcoming majors, followed closely by Rory McIlroy, who added the Masters to complete his own career Grand Slam earlier this year. Bryson DeChambeau is the only other golfer receiving better than 10-1 odds in any of the next four majors.
The 2025 Open Championship
Also known as The Open, it will be held July 17-20 at Royal Portrush Golf Club in Northern Ireland. Xander Schauffele won the 2024 event at Royal Troon. Shane Lowry won the event in 2019, the last time The Open was held at Royal Portrush.
The only one of the four majors always played on the same course, Augusta National Club in Georgia, next year's event will be held April 9-12. McIlroy won the green jacket, his first, this year.
Scheffler will attempt to defend his 2025 title May 14-17 at Aronimink Golf Club in Newtown Square, Pennsylvania. This will be the second time the 129-year-old course hosts the PGA Championship, the first being in 1962, won by Gary Player.
The next event will be held at Shinnecock Hills Golf Club in Southampton, New York. J.J. Spaun won the 2025 Open at Oakhurst and is 70-1 to repeat as champion. The most recent U.S. Open to be held at Shinnecock HIlls was in 2018, site of Brooks Koepka's second of back-to-back U.S. Open championships.
