11.40 PM: That's it from ESPNcricinfo's live coverage of Match 16 of PSL 2022. Don't forget to join us back tomorrow when the home-side, Lahore Qalandars take on the red-hot Multan Sultans. We hope you enjoyed our watch. Till next time, it's goodbye and goodnight from Momin Butt and the rest of the team!
Mohammad Rizwan: "Credit goes to all the players and the management. We did make mistakes tonight in the field but we managed to nullify them through our excellent bowling performance. Conditions changed a bit during our batting innings and we thought 180-ish was a competitive total. We are trying to utilize Khushdil Shah in an all-round role and, thankfully, it's working for now. We would like to test our bench strength in the coming games and see if we can nurture any upcoming players for the country."
Wahab Riaz: "We are making mistakes in powerplay overs, both with the bat and the ball. I think it's pretty difficult to make a comeback when you have that kind of a powerplay phase. As a team, we have not been able to execute our plans as well as we would have liked."
Shan Masood is the player of the match. "It's always an honor to play for Pakistan. As a player, I have to stick to my process. I have just been a bit more clear and I'm taking it one ball at a time. It was a different pitch, looked like a belter initially but it got difficult in the latter half of our innings; I think we got a decent target on the board and credit to our bowlers for their performance tonight.
Presentations coming in a bit, stay tuned
Salal SS: "Its sad to see Peshawar-Zalmi morphing into the AC-Milan of football - descending from the lofty heights into an abyss."
Mohammed : "Khushdill, Shadab and Nawaz---Great sign for Pakistan! All three have been excellent with ball and bat!!"
11.30 PM: Multan Sultans cannot put a foot wrong in the PSL 2022. This is now six wins on the trot for them as they emphatically outclassed Peshawar Zalmi tonight despite losing the toss and being asked to bowl in the dewy conditions later on. The Zalmi have struggled quite a fair bit in the powerplay overs and their innings tonight painted a very similar picture. They were always chasing the game once Blessing Muzarabani plucked out both the openers in the 2nd over. Shoaib Malik and Liam Livingstone then looked to be stringing together a handy partnership when the Sultan pacers came to the fore and ran through the opposition's middle-order. The likes of Abbas Afridi, Shahnawaz Dahani and Blessing Muzarabani bowled aggressively and used the extra lift off the surface to wonderful effect. Once Imran Tahir got Malik to hole out into the deep leg-side, it was pretty much curtains for the Zalmi. They are stranded at the bottom half of the pile and need to do some serious pondering ahead of their upcoming games.
