8:47pm The Falcons were struggling after 13 overs, having stuttered their way to 74-4. But then, Allen entered the fray and he changed the entire dynamic of this innings. He smashed the ball to all parts, took down Tariq, and injected the impetus the Falcons were craving. Allen could not finish off the innings, but Wasim, playing another neat captain's hand, was there at the end alongside Springer to ensure the Falcons nudged past 160.
The Knight Riders, conversely, will feel they gave away a few too many runs at the death. They ran into a red-hot Fabian Allen, and their death-bowling, subsequently, suffered. Prior to that, Narine did his bit, even if he returned wicket-less, with Tariq also impressing for large parts, alongside Edward, who was brilliant in his first two overs but cracked when put under the pump. This is not a huge target, especially with the firepower TKR have, but this is a target that will need them to be somewhere close to their best. Join us in a bit for the chase!
Akeal Hosein: (On his bowling) Bit disappointed - think I could have done much better than that. that said, happy I could get those figures and do a job for the team. Pooran has been captain or a couple of franchises and West Indies. He is a familiar face. Last year and year before, even though he was not captain, he helped me with field placements (and plans). One thing we said in the group is that we have won the most titles, but have lost the right to just come in and lift trophies. We have to earn it and take it one game at a time, and the rest will take care of itself. It is not a bad score. We could have restricted them to 20-30 runs less. The pitch is quite a good one, so it is a good score for us to chase.
