8:56pm So, the Patriots have made their way past 150, helped massively by John's cameo towards the end. Prior to that, Louis and Hasaranga were the major contributors and played huge roles in rescuing the Patriots after they were reduced to 0-3, with each of their top three departing for ducks. Clarkson could never really get going and finished with 24 off 32.

The Royals, meanwhile, were excellent in patches. At the start, especially in the first two overs, Theekshana and Wellalage were almost unplayable. They lost the plot a little through the rest of the powerplay and towards the end but barring those two patches, they bowled well and bowled incisively, with Theekshana and Wellalage causing the bulk of the damage. McCoy, before being ravaged by cramp, also gave a nice account of himself. They will be confident of chasing down this total but on a track that has spun and gripped, the Patriots will feel they have a decent chance too. Join us in a bit for the run-chase!

Dunith Wellalage: (On the pitch) The wicket is a little bit low and slow. I was trusting myself and was trying to vary my speed and adjust (my release point on the crease). We (Theekshana and me) have played together. He is an experienced bowler and he helped me a lot today. (On bowling to Hasaranga) I know his favourite shots and I tried to bowl wicket to wicket. (On his CPL experience) Very happy and I want to thank my coaching staff and my team.

Holder to Clarkson, no run, excellent wide yorker to finish off. Clarkson cannot get anything on it and that is an anti-climactic end, especially after the events of the previous ball!

Holder to John, 1 wide, OUT, chaos all around! Speared down leg. John swings and misses, and there is a run out too because Clarkson wanted to pinch the single that John was just not looking for. Easy run out at the bowler's end and after all that confusion, Clarkson will be on strike for the final ball because it was called a wide!
