The Royals, meanwhile, were excellent in patches. At the start, especially in the first two overs, Theekshana and Wellalage were almost unplayable. They lost the plot a little through the rest of the powerplay and towards the end but barring those two patches, they bowled well and bowled incisively, with Theekshana and Wellalage causing the bulk of the damage. McCoy, before being ravaged by cramp, also gave a nice account of himself.
