9:05pm Incredible is often an overused term in sport. But trust me, this was incredible. It was gung-ho, it was all-action, it was bruising and for most parts, it was quite pulverizing for the Patriots. They were chasing leather for the majority of the innings, post a brief lull in the powerplay and Permaul, who bowled just two overs, was the only bowler to go at under ten runs per over.
Now, back to the Warriors. Hetmyer was the protagonist of the carnage, smashing his way to a 39-ball 91, which included 11 sixes and no fours. Gurbaz was equally belligerent at the top of the order and brought up his third CPL fifty, eventually finishing with 69 off 37. Pretorius, Reifer and Sinclair also played useful cameos and all of that culminated in the Warriors putting up this mountain of runs. You'd think they have enough in the bank but the Patriots have firepower of their own, not to mention that cricket has seen stranger things in the past. Join us in a bit for the chase!
Shimron Hetmyer: (On how he is feeling) Just a little bit tired, but I will be alright (smiles). I was trying to hit a four but it didn't come off. Playing on this ground, you are basically trying to hit it up in the air. You try to be as clear as possible on the stroke-making and try to use the wind, and also try to hit straight because the boundaries are smaller. (On if the score is enough) Hope so, but it is still about the guys putting the ball in the right areas and taking our chances. It is still a good track.
RA Reifer run out 14 (5b 0x4 2x6) SR: 280.00
A record for the Guyana Amazon Warriors too. The 22 sixes they have hit tonight is the most in an innings in CPL history
