9:41pm A bit of an anti-climactic end to what was otherwise a very powerful innings. Lewis and Mayers were the stars of the show and put together a 199-run stand. Lewis got to his hundred in the last over and while Mayers fell agonizingly short, both of them, while they were out there together, matched each other stroke for stroke. The Kings did not seem to have any answers for large swathes and it was only after the rain delay that they established some sort of control.
Speaking of the Kings, Wiese was the only bowler to pick up a wicket, with both of those coming in the 20th over. Noor was quite economical and his variations were on point, which meant Lewis and Mayers, despite being in rampage mode, were content to play out the left-arm wrist-spinner. They now have a tough task on their hands but given how true the track is, the Kings will feel they can still make a fist of this chase. Join us in a bit for the second innings.
