9:45pm That will be all from us for today. We hope you enjoyed our coverage and we will be back at it tomorrow as England take on Bangladesh in Guwahati. Until next time, from Shashank, Sudeep, Vairavan and myself (Shashwat), this is goodbye!

Laura Wolvaardt, South Africa captain: Such an amazing turnaround. This is what we knew we were capable of, really happy of how quickly we put that behind us and bounced back today. We had an amazing last 15 (overs with the ball). We bowled amazingly. Mlaba was amazing. Our death plans were amazing. We have been nailing that. Glad to see we could do that again. (On her catch) Just lucky it stuck. Fielding is something we have been talking about, glad that today was one of our better performances (on a fast outfield). (On Brits) She is going amazing. She has scored 6 hundreds in the last 11 games or something. Phenomenal what she is doing, and hopefully she can keep doing it (in the games to come). (Next match against India) Enjoy it (the win) tonight. But we need to forget about this as well because cricket starts at zero. Another big game, we need to be fully switched on. New venue too, we will do our prep and come back hard.

Sophie Devine, New Zealand captain: Even though it was a different pitch, still thought it was a 270-280 pitch. Got into a good position to launch but kept losing wickets. Credit to the way they batted (at the start), they negated what we threw at them. Disappointing for us. We have spoken about it before. We have to win a lot of games. Puts a bit more pressure on the remaining games. We know exactly where we stand and what we have to do. Some things that went well in both innings but in this competition, you cannot play half a game. (On her 300th international appearance and how she enjoyed it) Would have enjoyed a bit more if we would have won. Will sit down with Batesy (Suzie Bates, my great mate) and reflect on what has been a great career. Humble and grateful to have pulled on this shirt 300 times. Whenever I do that, want to give my best (for my team and for the fans back home).

Tazmin Brits, Player of the Match: Feels great, glad we could pull this one through, definitely needed this after the first game. (Fastest to seven ODI hundreds) Funny enough, I am not one for records. When you mention Meg Lanning, glad I am above her (in that list). (On what has led to her recent success) I don't know, I am backing myself a bit more. Trying to be as positive as possible. Had a lot of batting camps to expand my range more and not to be one-dimensional. (On the chase tonight) Just said wanted to be as positive as possible. Glad I could middle it. Had not used the bat once, looks like that is the one I am going to use now. (On her celebration) Sinalo interviewed us, and I put it out to our fans (to tell me how they want me to celebrate). Two young 13-year-old girls, one in Australia and South Africa (but both South Africans), who asked me to do that celebration, and the celebration was for them.

9:29pm A cracking and clinical run-chase. Far, far away from the tentativeness and the indecision that clouded South Africa's opening Women's World Cup fixture. Wolvaardt fell in the powerplay but Brits, in a rich vein of form this year, showed why she has been touted for success at this World Cup. She starred with a magnificent hundred, and smashed the ball to all parts, often leaving NZ searching for answers. Luus, walking in at three, was not shabby either and played the perfect supporting role, also being there at the end to seal the deal.

NZ just could not create enough to have a shot at defending this total. There were more than a few misfields and their sloppiness in the field meant they could never build pressure. Their bowling also lacked incision and once Brits and Luus came at them, they did not have much in terms of a response. They are now 0-2 and have lots to ponder moving forward.

Carson to Luus, FOUR, Thumped in Guwahati but now meting out a thrashing of their own in Indore! South Africa win at a canter and at the first time of asking, hint that their display against England may have just been an aberration, after all! And this is a fitting blow to end things. Full outside off. Luus gives herself room and goes over the top effortlessly. And South Africa mount the highest successful run-chase against New Zealand in the Women's World Cup to open their account!
