And, breathe! What a humdinger of a game that was. If you missed any of the action, Shashank Kishore's report will have you covered. That's that from us though. Thanks for tuning in. Another double-header day tomorrow. Till then, this is me Ashish Pant signing off on behalf of Himanshu, Chandan and Sudeep. Ciao!

Avesh Khan is the player of the match: [How's the hand] The hand is fine. Initially I thought I had broken it. I literally saw stars. Didn't even get a chance to celebrate. [On the yorker execution] I don't want to become Mitchell Starc, I want to become a good Avesh Khan. I wanted to bowl with clarity and take my time. Wanted to execute my yorkers. I wanted to focus on my execution. I wanted to stop the boundaries in the first three balls. [Catch drop in the last over] I was sure as soon as the ball went to Miller that the catch will be taken. But with four runs, I was like the edges can go as well. But I focused on my yorkers and I didn't miss. [Last over] We wanted to take our time and set the field right in the last over. [Confidence] I keep thinking about the team and wanted to win the game for the team. It is a long tournament and I just want to do it for the team.

Rishabh Pant, the LSG captain: [Relief or happiness?] Both. These matches build character. It was an amazing win. As a team, this is going to take us to a different level. These matches build the character of the team. We will do better going forward. [Bowlers] All the credit to the bowlers holding their nerve. They batted brilliantly, but our bowlers held their nerves. The plan was to take our time and execute our ideas. We wanted to take one ball at a time. We feel we are in a positive direction. We are just enjoying the win.

Presentation time

Kresha Singh: "156/2 at the beginning of 17th over and just need 25 runs in 4 overs and 8 wickets You just need to blast with fours and sixes. But what happened here is unbelievable. Unbelievable.. unbelievable. "

Abhay: "RR cant catch a break.. 9 runs of last over is becoming an insurmountable challenge!"

Balaji: "I think its safe to say RR lost in 20th over. Conceded 27 while bowling and couldn't score 9"

Sree: "RR's lack of quality finishers are costing them close games. Quick 20s and 30s are needed to cross the line which unfortunately Jurel, Hetmyer are unable to."

Shardul Thakur: Never easy. Pressure time, there are high stakes. I missed one ball and then took a great catch. [The catch] I had no idea but taking experience I knew the angles and I was standing in the right place. [Last over] We knew Avesh's capability. Credit to Prince and the way he bowled the 19th over. He can surprise the batters easily with his pace. That is what we saw today and the first game in Vizag. Very happy. We are stressing about the games. Three or four games going our way.

Riyan Parag: Really hard to process all the emotions. Don't know what we did wrong. We were in the game till the 18th or 19th over. I don't know. I blame myself. I should have finished that game in the 19th over. We have to put up a game collectively. [RR bowling] The last over was unfortunate. I thought we would have stopped them to 165-170. We gave 20 runs too many, but we should have chased it down. [Complaints about the pitch] Today was perfect. No complaints about the surface. Just a few balls here and there, and it can cost you an IPL game.

11.20pm It's really hard to comprehend what's just happened in Jaipur. RR was cruising, and by cruising I mean they were 156 for 2 after 17 overs, needing just 25 off 18. Jaiswal was set, so was Parag. Then there was a comeback. A comeback for the ages, and the home crowd was left stunned. Avesh nailed a yorker and took out Jaiswal. He then took out Parag. Prince Yadav bowled a nerveless 19th over. And with RR requiring nine off the final, Avesh (Mitchell) Khan gave away just six runs to help LSG deliver a sensational two-run win. It was a perfect start to the chase for RR. A 14-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi ran down the track and pumped Shardul Thakur for a six over covers first ball of his IPL career. He added 85 off 52 balls with Jaiswal. Parag and Jaiswal then added 62 off 43 for the third wicket. It was all going to plan for RR... until it didn't.

1
Avesh Khan to Dubey, 1 run, LSG win by two runs! That is unbelievable. Fuller on the stumps, Dubey hammers this straight back at Avesh, who gets hit on the right hand. He rings his hand in pain. But that doesn't matter. What matters is that LSG have won what at one point felt like an unwinnable game. And RR... oh my word! They have lost another game which they had no business losing. LSG are not sure what's happened. Hugs all around. Zaheer Khan run in and gives Avesh a hug. Smiles all around.

Four to win, one ball. Can Dubey get a four? Can Avesh be LSG's hero?

2
Avesh Khan to Dubey, 2 runs, Straight up, straight up and Miller has dropped a relatively straightforward catch. What is happening? Knee-high full toss on off, he miscues this straight up to long-on. Miller runs forward and spills it

Avesh Khan to Dubey, no run, Oh, wow, he's absolutely nailed the yorker on middle. Hew can only jam this back to the bowler

Shubham Dubey next in. Pant wants the field changed as he stops Avesh in his delivery stride

W
Avesh Khan to Hetmyer, OUT, Oh, he's flicked this straight to square leg. My word, that's a great catch by Thakur. Half-volley on Hetmyer's pad, a metre left of right of square leg and that was four. Instead, he nails this to Thakur who hangs on. Hetmyer is filthy with himself. But this game has changed again

Avesh Khan to Hetmyer, 2 runs, Leading edge to deep point and Shardul fumbles to allow a second. Full outside off, he was looking to work this across the line and skews off the outside edge. The throw comes in and Pant tries to parry the ball back onto the stumps. Misses, the gloves hit the stumps, instead.

Something wrong with the ball? Yep, the umpires are changing it. Think a part of the seam had just come off. Avesh is not happy with that. The earlier ball was reversing a touch. RR need eight off five. Win probability still heavily favouring RR. Deep backward square leg and fine leg are coming in. He has to bowl wide yorkers, isn't it?

1
Avesh Khan to Jurel, 1 run, Nails a yorker first up on off stump, Jurel can only work that away to deep midwicket.

RR need nine in six balls. Not long back, they required nine off six against DC. That match ended in a Super Over. Same two batters were at the crease that day. Starc was the bowler then, Avesh is the bowler now. What happens here?

Venkatesh : "All came down to that last over of sandeep sharma"

Prince Yadav to Jurel, 1 run, Almost another wicket. Pacy back of a length ball on chest-high. Jurel is very late on his pull and ends up splicing this to the on-side. Neither Prince nor Pant can reach to the ball in time.

Hetmyer is the new man in. Won't be on strike. Prince is back

Avesh Khan to Parag, OUT, Oh, dear, Parag is struck right in front and Avesh has a second wicket for the over. Is there life in this game, yet? Nails the yorker again on off stump, Parag shuffles across and looks for a cheeky scoop. Misses and is caught bang in front. He reviews, more in hope than anything else. In fact, Parag is almost at the boundary line by the time the third umpire confirms that the ball would have missed off, missed leg and thumped into middle stump.
