Venkat : "SRH looks short, but early strikes can make this interesting." It really is hard to say because of the pitch assisting slower balls. But how do you make sense of all the yorkers? Listen to Timeout to find out. Abhimanyu will be here to start the chase.
Hari: "SRH are 12 runs above par."
Will Jacks: Pretty happy with that. With three lefties at the top, I knew I might get a go. There's turn, and grip for the seamers. We learned that quickly and adjusted. We have to be smart in the chase. We had a clear plan, was informed yesterday that I could be on in the powerplay. I was on in the 7th, I was given full confidence by the captain. We're happy with 162, we saw it was difficult for them, For it to be tricky, we know we'll have to do well in the first six and take it deep. SRH's top order swung and missed a lot before Abhishek and Kishan fell quickly. Head's laboured innings ended off Jacks' bowling. MI then continued to go yorkers, got a lot of full tosses in too but mostly got away with them. Klaasen got hold of Chahar in the 18th and the duo of Aniket and Cummins closed out with a 22-run over but there were lots of mistimed singles in the middle.
That was an atypical innings. Abhishek got chances, Head's mishits didn't carry, they got a fifty stand but not at pace. Old-school bowling was back with pacers trying as many yorkers early into the innings. Length was more the focus from MI than reverse swing. They bowled Will Jacks over Santner, which worked out.
9:17pm: First eight overs - 65 for 1, 50 for 3 in the next nine, 47 for 1 in the last 3. Shami, who's in to warm up, checks for dew. Signals there isn't any for now. Jaydev Unadkat is loosening up too, will he be the sub?
