11:27pm That will be all from us for tonight. If you missed out on any of the action, Ashish's report should have you covered. We will be back tomorrow with more IPL action, with the Chennai Super Kings, about to be led by MS Dhoni, taking on the Kolkata Knight Riders. Until then, this is goodbye from Chandan, Raghav and myself (Shashwat). Take care, everyone!
KL Rahul, Player of the Match: It was a slightly tricky wicket but what helped me was being behind the stumps for 20 overs, watching how the wicket played. The ball sat in the wicket but it was consistent throughout, it was one-paced. I knew what my shots are, wanted to get off to a good start, and then assess it accordingly. It depends on the conditions and the ground and the dimensions. On a wicket like this, I knew what my pockets were. If I wanted to hit a big six, I knew what pockets to target, and keeping gave me a feeler for where other batters were dismissed and where they hit the sixes. Got lucky with the dropped catch. This is my ground, my home, know this (ground) better than anyone else. Something I have always done with my preparation is that I always try to adapt to different wickets (even in practice). I experiment in practice, get out a couple of times but it gives me a fair idea of the areas I can target - where I can take singles, where I can hit sixes. I don't keep batting for hours and hours and keep slogging. I do that sometimes but that is when I am not getting into a flow and rhythm. It is more about how I can master playing (on a particular pitch) and that becomes second-nature.
Axar Patel, Delhi Capitals captain: (On if he thought DC could win their first four games) When we won three in three, thought that four out of four could also be possible (smiles). Everyone is playing with confidence, it feels nice (to have won four out of four). We talk about match-ups and what is happening off the surface. I felt they like to face pacers, so tried to hold them back. Then the ball was spinning and bouncing, so thought of bowling spin in the powerplay. But the 19th over (that he bowled) was too tactical (laughs). Kuldeep has been there for many years and to do it consistently on this big platform is a good thing. Vipraj, in the first two games, was feeling pressure but the way he bowled in the last game and this game, he is confident. Day by day, he is improving. He is giving the captain confidence and no better thing than that. (On Rahul) It becomes a very easy job for me. I have been in that situation, being used as a floater in pressure situations. It is not easy (changing positions). Having a player like him is a very good thing. I played a bad shot today to get out, but he played a mature innings and finished it off. He has been carrying his Champions Trophy form.
Rajat Patidar, Royal Challengers Bengaluru captain: The way we have seen the wicket earlier, it was quite different. We thought it would be a nice batting track. We have not batted well. Batters are in a good frame of mind, they have shown nice intent. 80 for one, and then 90 for four, that is not acceptable (on this track). We were lacking in assessing the conditions and the situation. The way David accelerated at the end, it was really amazing. The powerplay, the way the fast bowlers bowled, it was really special. (On their next game away to Jaipur) We are not keeping things in our mind that we have a good away record. The simple thing is that we have to play good cricket.
Tristan Stubbs: It was really satisfying. Came in a tricky situation, but the run-rate never got out of hand. I did not need to do much - KL played the way he did. (On the drizzle) We briefly mentioned it, but I never thought of it. there is so much extra time, so you are always going to come back here, thought it was time to kick on. (On his approach) Just give myself some time. We lost quite a few wickets. Last year, similar chase, we were four down and we kept losing wickets. I saw what Tim did at the end, and felt one big over could get you back into it. Every position is so different. I enjoy batting later on in the game, because you know what to do. Higher up, you have to adjust quicker.
11:01pm Wow. What a run-chase. For a while, it felt that it had been derailed, especially after the Capitals lost three inside the powerplay. Axar fell soon after, which left this partnership to do the bulk of the heavy lifting. And boy, did they do it. Rahul led from the front, soaking up all the pressure at the start and then opening up his shoulders just as the heavens opened up. He took down Hazlewood, perhaps earmarked by RCB as their enforcer towards the end, and that left the hosts rummaging for answers they ultimately could not find.
Credit to Stubbs as well. He came in at a time when DC were threatening to flag. But he kept at it, ticking things over and forging a solid partnership with Rahul. DC were helped by the fact that RCB had a fifth-bowler quota to fill, for which they turned to Livingstone, who ended up conceding 14 in an over that shifted the momentum. Bhuvneshwar and Dayal, subsequently, had tougher gigs and in the end, DC had too much for RCB, and RCB had too little in the board to tide over it.
DC one blow away from a win
18 off 18. Dayal to bowl

shankar: "Excellent game awareness by DC. sensed there's a chance of rain and they were 8 runs behind in DWL. scored 35 off 2 overs and now 11 runs in front." -- Kudos to Rahul for identifying that moment and capitalizing on it
