Here's Sampath with an amazing stat. 89 for 0 by RCB across their first three overs and the last two overs. Only SRH (98 for 2 vs DC in 2024) scored more runs in those five overs (1-3 and 19-20) in an IPL innings

9:10pm A really, really curious innings. The first 3.4 overs went for 61 (without the fall of a wicket). Then, Salt and Kohli had a breakdown in communication, which led to the former perishing. RCB, shell-shocked by that moment, could not recover thereafter and stuttered and stumbled their way. Until...David took matters into his own hands in the last two overs, smashing 36 and taking RCB past 160.

Nigam and Kuldeep were the standout bowlers for the Capitals. Both used their variations and bamboozled the batters with their combination of drift, dip and flight. Mohit also fared well whenever called upon, with Mukesh also doing the same, until being parked to different parts of the ground by David in the 20th. Starc and Axar were slightly more disappointing. Axar's decision to bowl the 19th also backfired spectacularly, and that means DC now have to chase 164, which may not seem much, but is probably 10 more than they would have been hoping for, given where they were after 18 overs. Join us in a bit for the chase!

Kuldeep Yadav: Very important to stick to the length, it is very important. When you get a wicket like this, very important to put revs on the ball. That is important for any wrist-spinner, and was trying to spin the ball as much as possible. The wicket is very good to bat on. With the dimensions, you focus on the length. You don't want to go fuller. Sticking to the length has been key, and seeing what the batters are trying to do. Vipraj bowled in the powerplay. Spoke to KL bhai and he said that a few balls were holding. Had a chat with Axar as well - that was our plan, just to spin the ball and read what the batters were doing. The wicket is a bit sticky as well, and it was important to get wickets in the middle overs. I don't think there is any dew, and that is a good sign for the RCB bowling unit. 164 is a good total, but looking at the conditions here, it is more like chaseable.

Mukesh Kumar to David, FOUR, David finishes with a boundary, and RCB end up with 163! Full, wide and also in the slot. David has to reach out but the extra room he has, allows him to crash this over extra cover. David has played a delightful cameo here, and RCB have something to play with now!
