Antony : "3 players scored more than 1 run..."

7:55pm Wow, what a topsy-turvy innings. The Renegades bossed the start and the end, picking up almost all of their wickets in those two phases. Rogers got the ball rolling early, dismissing Crawley. Mujeeb then removed Connolly to leave the Scorchers tottering. Hardie and Inglis, though, resurrected the innings beautifully and put pressure on the visitors, not letting the bowlers settle.

The Power Surge, though, brought about the dismissal of Inglis and despite Evans and Hardie finding the fence a few times after it, the Scorchers never really recovered to get to that 180-plus total they seemed destined for at the half-way stage. In the end, the Scorchers, rather astonishingly, lost their last seven wickets for five runs.

Credit must also be given to how the Renegades bowled. Their pacers utilized the longer square boundaries, bowling into the track and making the batters hit to those areas. Sutherland finished with three wickets, as did Rogers. The rest of their bowlers bagged a wicket apiece, and they will feel they can chase down this total, despite the strength in the Scorchers' bowling attack.

It promises to be an enthralling run-chase, and we will be back with every little detail in about ten minutes or so.

Richardson to Behrendorff, OUT, a run-out to end it all, perhaps sums it up! Hard length on middle and off. Nips back and tucks up Behrendorff, who is awfully late on the stroke. Splices it in the general direction of the bowler, and Morris decides to sneak in a single. Richardson collects, takes aim and smashes down the stumps at the batter's end with Morris at least a yard short!

Richardson to Morris, 1 run, back of a length outside off. Morris hangs back deep in his crease and jabs it towards mid off to get off the mark

Morris is the last batter in, and the Scorchers in danger of not batting out their quota of overs. Stunning. Simply stunning

W
Richardson to Richardson, OUT, Kane gets Jhye! Full and wide outside off. Jhye aims for the moon but loses his shape completely. Shanks it terribly and offers the tamest of catches to mid off. A team hat-trick for the Renegades, and it has gone horribly pear-shaped for the Scorchers!

JA Richardson c Maddinson b Richardson 1 (4m 2b 0x4 0x6) SR: 50.00

Okay, things have gone downhill for the Scorchers in the past few minutes. Can they now somehow get to 170? Kane Richardson versus Jhye Richardson now. Behrendorff is at the other end

Sutherland to Tye, OUT, three in the over for Sutherland! Rolls his fingers over it and bangs it into the track outside off. Tye swings hard at it but does not get on top of the bounce. Ends up slicing it and Clarke, stationed at extra cover, was never going to put that one down!

Sutherland to Agar, OUT, picks out deep mid wicket! Another shortish delivery on middle and off. Agar sits back deep in his crease and swipes at it. Like Evans, he makes decent contact but cannot clear the sweeper on the fence, who takes it reverse-cupper above his head!

Sutherland to Evans, OUT, holes out to deep mid wicket! Half-tracker on leg stump and Evans' eyes light up. He gives it the lot and makes decent connection. He is hitting to the long deep mid wicket boundary, though, and just does not have enough juice behind it to clear the fence. The Renegades have come storming back into this contest in the last few overs!

de Kock seemed to pull up a little ginger after gathering that one. The Renegades will hope he is alright

Sutherland to Evans, no run, length delivery angled into leg stump. Evans shuffles across and misses his scoop. Not called a wide, and that is perhaps the right call. Would have hit Evans on the thigh had he stood still

Right. Two overs left. Can the Scorchers get past 180? Or will the Renegades be able to keep them down to a sub-180 score?

With Hardie back in the shed, the Scorchers might have to recalibrate. That said, this pair is very capable of taking them up to 190 and perhaps even close to 200. That, despite this being a true surface, will be tough to chase

Hardie is a bit early into his stroke, though, and it spoons up off the outer half of the bat. Sutherland rushes in from long on and does the rest!
