10.02pm What a way to finish the decade! A classical T20 game with so many ebbs and flows. Strikers fail to win a new year's eve game for the first time in six matches. Thunder, however, were the better side. Two top-order half centuries from them in the first innings and then the screws were turned in the first half of the second innings. Ferguson, Khawaja impressive but so was Weatherald for Strikers. As for the bowlers, Sams and Morris were good for Thunder with the ball, with the tidy Arjun Nair for support. As for Rashid Khan, he once again showed us how potent he is with the bat.
That's all from us at ESPNcricinfo for 2019, see you next year for more BBL action! Enjoy the evening...
WA Agar run out 0 (1b 0x4 0x6) SR: 0.00
Four to win. Three for a Super Over. Two or less - and Thunder win. Agar to face the ball. Conference between four senior men in the field. Must say, New Year's Eve couldn't have had a better finish
Rashid Khan run out 40 (18b 4x4 3x6) SR: 222.22
Strikers need five off two.
Nine off three.
Strikers need 13 off five. Who you backing, folks?
Can Strikers win their sixth straight New Year's eve BBL match? They need 14 off six. But the only problem is that Siddle's on strike. Morris has been tasked with the final over. "We will rock you" playing in the background. The crowd's pumped.
