5:25 pm Hello and welcome back to the run chase. The series is now on the line for both teams! It will be a difficult chase under the lights, as the pitch still offers significant turn and variable bounce to the bowlers. Don't be fooled by the earlier scores; the surface remains tricky, especially against the spinners.

END OF OVER:

5:05 pm The pitch from the first ODI, which was expected to turn, behaved surprisingly well for the batters. Saif Hassan immediately went on the attack, hitting back-to-back boundaries off Akeal Hosein's first over. This attacking mindset from both openers paid off brilliantly: they put up 74 runs in the Powerplay without losing a wicket. The opening batters batted freely for 25 overs, scoring a massive 176-run partnership, which is the second-highest opening stand in Bangladesh ODI history. The only moment of true scare was when Saif Hassan successfully overturned an LBW decision. The partnership was finally ended when Saif Hassan mistimed a slog stroke, getting caught out at long-on for a career-best 80 runs. Soumya Sarkar soon followed, heading back after scoring 91 runs off 86 balls. The run rate then dropped significantly as Hridoy and Shanto struggled to maintain the tempo. Credit goes largely to the West Indies bowlers for restricting the scoring in the middle overs after a silent first half. The West Indies' fielding let them down badly, dropping several catches, including a missed stumping by skipper Shai Hope. However, Alick Athanaze grabbed a world-class catch, a moment of pure individual brilliance, to dismiss Shanto. Akeal Hosein then triggered another batting collapse in the death overs, picking up three wickets in the 46th over. He finished as the pick of the bowlers with four scalps, while Athanaze got two. Bangladesh ended with 14 sixes, matching their record for the joint-highest in an ODI innings. Perhaps Shai Hope could have used his spinners more, given that Greaves, his only seamer, was expensive. We now wait to see how the pitch reacts after the 30-minute break under the overcast sky and floodlights.

Sakib Jawhar: "@JamiL, bro.. This has become very normal for me these days"

Kamran: "So as mentioned in my comment after 25 overs, an expected complete contrast between the 2 halves of the innings. 176-0 in the first 25 and 120-8 in the last 25. They only managed 120 due to West Indies fielding poorly"

West Indies need 297 runs to win
